NEW DISTRICT POLICIES ON: VAPING, FIGHTING, DRESS CODE & ID BADGES
Updated Policies Enforced
New and updated safety policies for the 2023-24 school year
Spring ISD has implemented several changes for the new school year, with an updated Student Code of Conduct and Student-Parent Handbook. This addresses vaping consequences (as mandated by state law) as well as new rules for student ID badges and dress code.
For more information on these changes, please see below. To view the Student Code of Conduct, please visit www.springisd.org/codeofconduct. To view the Student-Parent Handbook, please visit www.springisd.org/handbook.
ATTENDANCE
Our school day begins at 7:10 AM every day. We open the doors to students at 6:40 AM for breakfast. Please be sure to have your child/children here on time. Students who are consistently tardy are at a clear disadvantage and remember that three tardies equal one absence.
If your child is sick, please report the absence by 9:00 AM by calling the attendance office at 281-891-7260.
The state of Texas has a mandatory Attendance Requirement of 90%. Please know that under the Compulsory Attendance Law, all students must be in attendance at least 90% of the time they've been enrolled in a public school. In order to receive credit for a final grade for a class, a student is required to attend class 90 percent of the days a class is offered regardless of whether the student's absences are excused [see FEA] or unexcused.
