Nurse's News
1 in 13 students and 1 in 10 adults have food allergies we all have a responsibility to learn more about food allergies!
The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FARE) has a website platform to educate the public about food allergies, a potentially life-threatening disease and increase awareness and action on behalf of the food allergy community year-round. Here is the link to the new FARE website's food allergies 101.
School staff are educated about students with food allergies and receive year-round training.
Have you heard about avoiding "cross contact"? This is when allergens are accidentally transferred from one food to another. Strict avoidance is the only way to prevent food allergy reactions. Always think about cross contact when preparing food.
Please visit the FARE website resources for more about food allergies.
