Miles ISD

The After School Program last day was on September 28, 2022. At this time, we have not heard from TEA, therefore, we are going to put a hold on the program until we get confirmation either way about the TCLAS Grant. I will keep you updated.

Just a quick update on safety. We will continue to lock doors, monitor who is on our campus, check doors and access points, and continue to develop our Emergency Operations Plans.

We take the safety of your children very seriously, therefore we want to ensure you that we are working to make Miles ISD the safest it can possibly be.

A few things that we have learned from the past week:

Not all parents received the notification last Thursday. Our Secretaries and myself looked at our registration. One button was not filled in on some of the registration forms, therefore, those parents did not receive the text. Our campus secretaries have gone through to make sure this button is turned on. Also, the system only picks up the first contact on the registration list, that is why only one parent in a household may have received it. We do not have a solution at this time for that.

Miles ISD APP is not allowing messages to be pushed out. The APP is being updated to allow this to happen. Updating the APP is a process, therefore it may take 5-7 days for Apple to approve the update.

Facebook pages- I will ensure that all messages sent out will also be posted on Facebook. Currently there are many Facebook accounts. If you use Facebook, I am asking you to add Miles ISD page to your list. I will have the High School and Elementary post it as well.
