Mount Airy Casino Resort
The Pennsylvania Game Control Board today unanimously voted to renew the Category 2 casino license for Mount Airy #1, LLC, operator of Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monro County.
In making its decision, the Board determined that Mount Airy #1, LLC had fulfilled its obligations under the previously approved Casino Operator License and was therefore eligible to renew the license for an additional five years.
The decision to renew the license was based on the board's utilization process, which allowed both the operator and the public to provide information related to the renewal decision. Parada, the casino's host municipality, on August 3 this yearPublic hearings were held in the township, where employees at Mount Airy Casino Resort submitted exhibits and offered testimony on various aspects of the facility's operations since the last license renewal was granted. The public was also able to provide testimony about the impact in casinos and communities.
In making its decision, the board also received information from local government officials, local organizations and PA State Police along with the Gaming Control Board's Enforcement Counseling Bureau, the Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement, the Bureau of Enforcement and Problematic Gaming, and the Casino Compliance Bureau.
A public hearing was also held today in Harrisburg, allowing members of the board to ask representatives of Airy #1, LLC in more detail about the remaining issues before voting on renewal.
Opening from October 2007 to January 2023, Mount Airy Casino Resort generated $2,980,443,326 in total revenue from slot machines, table games, iGaming and sports betting, returning approximately $1,333,196,662 in tax revenue from gameplay to the Commonwealth. Mount Airy Casino Resort currently operates 1,632 slot machines, 84 table games, Foxbett retail and online sportsbooks, and Foxbett and poker stars eye gaming sites through PlayMountAiry.
