Teacher-in-Training Travels Abroad!
Two weeks in Kenyan schools
This is a rare opportunity and I am so glad I get to go! I hope to soak in all I can from the people of Kenya, both in the realm of academia and culturally.
Itinerary of learning and adventure
- Visiting the University of Nairobi
- Visiting multiple schools
- Taking a trip to an elephant orphanage and giraffe sanctuary
Week two will be spent in the village of Wongonyi:
- Visiting the Wonongyi primary school
- Visiting the Tsavo National Park

We are in the process of collecting school supplies, soccer balls, and books for the Wongonyi library. New or gently-used items, please. Collections will be taken until Thursday, October 3rd.

About Me and Contact Information
I am currently a senior at Western Carolina University and I am interning in a 2nd grade classroom at Junaluska Elementary in Haywood County, NC. I will graduate in May of 2020 with a Bachelor's degree of Elementary Education with a minor in English. I live in Sylva with my elderly dog, Shadow. We enjoy being outside for just about any occasion. :)
