Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Visitors to CTS
This week we welcomed Cllr Simon Bywater, Chair of Children & Young People's Committee to our school. Our CEO Dr Andrew Campbell and Principal, Angela Reynolds, accompanied him on his tour and told him the history of this outstanding free school.
Year 11 - Health and Fitness Students
Well done to Musa, Grace, Amber and Alex who have already made fantastic progress in Unit 1 of their Health and Fitness course, keep up the hard work!
Believe Big Presentation
Following on from their success in the BWT Believe Big challenge, the winning team of Eoin, Sam and Jack presented their winning idea to students and special guests in a presentation assembly.
Stars of the Week:
Students:
- Mrs Vaghadia has nominated her Year 12 Psychology students for an excellent start to their course. Also nominated is Year 9 student Adrian for his hard work in Sociology.
- Mr Cox has nominated Dylan 10T and Jalal 10C for their excellent attitude to learning in Biology.
- Miss Connellan has nominated the following students in English, Year 9 students Tamiska and Lukasz for excellent work, contribution and engagement and Year 11 students, Lloyd, Bailey and Kieron for for great responses to their English language questions. Also nominated is Year 11 student Millie for showing great determination and resilience in English.
- Miss Watt has nominated year 10 students Abbie, A-Jay and Adam for excellent work produced in German.
- Mr Harley has nominated Year 7 student Anya for her hard work on her CKG shadowing prize project in Design and Technology and Year 10 student Jamie for his perseverance in Engineering on his tool making clamp project.
- Mr Gourlay has nominated Year 10 students Jack H and Jack M for an excellent start on their computer science NEA.
- Mrs Hopkins has nominated Year 11 student Oliver for excellent work in History.

Celebration Evening 2018
We had an amazing evening celebrating our students success at this years Celebration Evening. It was lovely to see so many parents/carers and extended family supporting our students and celebrating their success.
Special Award Winners
Pictured are the recipients of the special awards this year, which included Student of the Year for years 7-10, and awards for Contribution, Creative Arts, Outstanding Sports, Technical and Citizenship.
CCF Students
Our Combined Cadet Force students supported on the night and were fantastic ambassadors for the school. Most received awards over the course of the evening with Martyna receiving the Technical Award.
Attendance Matters
Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.
Whole School Attendance
Whole School attendance this week is 98.33%, well done to all our students.
Best Tutor Group
Best tutor groups this week with 100% attendance are 7CO, 7ST, 7SW, 7TA, 7TE, 8C0 and 11C.
House Winner
House winners are C house with 98.67% attendance, well done Cayley and Coleman.
Reminders:
- We will be holding our Open Events for Year 6 students on Tuesday 18th September and Thursday 27th September with sessions at 5.30pm and 7.00pm on both evenings. No appointments are necessary.
