Announcements & Updates

- If you have not already done so, please carefully review the contents of Dr. Morillo's August 18 communication.


- Reminder: All back-to-school forms, documents, and contact information updates must be completed via the Parent Portal by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27. Please see the August 17 communication from Mrs. Toth for specific details.


- For those students taking Band and Orchestra, information from Mrs. Carpenter and Mr. McMurray regarding instrument rentals and other procedures is forthcoming.


- To streamline communication and assistance for technology-related issues, students/parents must submit a help desk ticket via the following form: https://forms.gle/RxzJj1WTCurdhSSaA. This link will also be shared with your child via Google Classroom and is available on the Mountain View website.


- All sports physicals and related paperwork are due on August 25. to be cleared by Dr. Porter on August 30. Please refer to the Student Athlete Information page for instructions and links to all forms.


- Once again, Pomptonian will offer daily hot lunch for students. Parents can now order daily (prior to 8:00 a.m.), select specific days, or order for the entire week, all from the same form. Please click here to access the order form. Note that although free lunch is available to all students, orders must be placed following the above procedure to secure a lunch for your child.


- Students should bring as many of their school supplies as possible on August 25; it is suggested that students have all of the necessary supplies in school by Friday, August 27. Click here to access supply lists.


- All students will attend a meeting with Administration during the first week of school, which will include a review of important policies and expectations.


- In the coming week, Mountain View Middle School will hold its first security drill. The New Jersey Department of Education requires schools to conduct one fire and one security drill per month. Be assured that policies and procedures will be reviewed with your child prior to the first drill.


- A reminder for any families that moved within the Borough over the summer: You must complete the registration packet and provide documentation per district policy. Please contact the Main office with any questions.


- If you are interested in a part-time or full-time position in the school cafeteria, please see the attached flyer below from Pomptonian for additional information.

Welcome New Staff!

Mountain View Middle School is pleased to welcome Ms. Bridget Walsh, school counselor. Ms. Walsh possesses a Masters Degree from Seton Hall University in School Counseling with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The College of New Jersey. She will assume Mrs. Lanka's position as she takes her expertise to Hilltop, where she will establish the school's first full time counseling program.


In addition, Mrs. Chris Filippini, who serves as a daily substitute at Mountain View, will temporarily assume Mrs. Beach's 8th grade Mathematics position. Mrs. Filippini will utilize Mrs. Beach's lesson plans, materials, and resources. Mrs. Beach will return on October 12.

Notes from the HSA

- HSA Back to School Coffee returns......at the Gazebo! Join fellow Mendham Boro parents at the Boro Park Gazebo directly after your first day of school send off. Stop by for a cup of coffee and a quick mingle.


- The HSA is looking for Room Parent volunteers for this school year! The role of a Room Parent is to help facilitate communication via email between the teachers and their classroom parents during the year. Additionally, they will support the efforts of staff appreciation lunches for their respective grades. They will be advised in advance of the date their class will host the event and help coordinate the event by sending out an email with either a sign up genius or money request for their grades luncheon (email provided by staff appreciation chairs). If volunteers are needed the day of the event and no one volunteers it is the room parents' responsibility to help the staff appreciation chairs the day of the lunch.
