Notes from the Principal...
The start of the school is upon us! As we put the final touches upon our building and our campus I hope you are also making final preparations for the 2023-2024 school year. We understand that the start of any school year can bring mixed feelings for students and families alike. We fully expect excitement, anxiousness, anticipation, and even apprehension. We are looking forward to helping you navigate all of these emotions to lay a strong foundation for the school year to come.

2) Our Student & Family Handbook is linked below in this newsletter - please review the sections on Student Code of Conduct, Attendance, and Dress Code. These areas are common places where students may make mistakes. We want to be proactive in helping you understand the expectations to attend Massabesic High School safely and successfully.

Important Back-To-School Reminders
Opening Days
1) The first day day of school is reserved for our GRADE 9 STUDENTS ONLY on Wednesday, August 30th.2) Sanford Regional Technical Center also opens for Grade 11 and Grade 12 students on Wednesday, August 30th.
2) GRADE 10, 11, & 12 students join us on Thursday, August 31st.
3) School is not in session on Friday, September 1st or Monday, September 4th. Classes will resume on Tuesday, September 5th
School Expectations & Opportunities
1) All students will meet with the administration team in grade-level groupings to review expectations and opportunities for the 2023-2024 school year.
2) Grade 9 will meet with administration on Wednesday, August 30th.
3) Grades 10, 11, & 12 will meet with administration on Thursday, August 31st.
Student Arrival & Dismissal
1) Students may arrive at school at 7:10 AM
2) School starts at 7:30 AM. Any students arriving past 7:30 AM will be marked tardy.
3) All students who arrive past 7:30 AM must enter through the main entrance and check in.
4) School dismisses at 1:49 PM. Students driving or being picked up by parents/families may leave directly.
5) Students riding Wave 1 buses should report directly to their buses. Students riding Wave 2 buses must remain within the building until their buses in Wave 2 have arrived on campus.
Student Schedules
The add/drop period for courses will end on Friday, September 15th.
RSU 57 Community Forum
We are pleased to host the RSU 57 Strategic Planning Committee on Monday, August 28th for a Community-Wide Forum at 7:00 PM in our auditorium. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our community to learn about some of the work that has been conducted thus far, in addition to hearing from YOU, our community. We hope you will join us!
MHS Open House
The Open House for students and parents/families will be Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM.
