Words From Ms. Mills
We've had a wonderful first few days of school! The palpable joy just radiated through the school! (see pictures below.)
A few notes for families:
The K-4 school day starts at 7:55 AM, and students are considered tardy after 8:00 AM. Please be sure to plan for the extra time it takes to navigate traffic in the morning so that students can be in class and ready to go on time. (PreK arrival is 8-8:15).
We kindly ask that parents/guardians make their goodbyes outside the school building. Quick and confident goodbyes tend to be easiest for everyone. If your child is hesitant, we will send a staff member out to help. If you need to speak to someone in the office, please ring the door bell to page the office.
At pick up time, there tend to be traffic back ups as well. Please plan accordingly so that children can be picked up by 2:50 PM. (2:15 for PreK, 2:40 for K).
When communicating your child's dismissal plans, please include both the homeroom teacher and admin assistant Mrs. Hecker (thecker@wcsu.net). We appreciate receiving any communication re: dismissal no later than noon. The end of the day is a particularly busy time at school, and we can more successfully and accurately communicate changes of plan to your child, the teachers, and supervising staff when given advance notice.
Please note that the picture day date has changed to 9/23. (see below)
Thus far, 87 families have started their Alma Annual Forms update. Please see below for instructions. These are required annual health, field trip, media release etc, forms that are different from initial enrollment forms.
Lastly, we still need a recess supervisor! See below for details.
As always, please contact me if I can support your child's success at school in any way!
Sincerely,
Maggie Mills
Principal
Required Annual Forms - All Students/Families
The WCSU and the State of Vermont require you to submit certain information for each student you have enrolled in the district. To make it quicker for you, all these forms will be completed online in Alma. Please note these forms must be completed each year and are DIFFERENT forms than the initial enrollment forms.
To start the process, log in to Alma at woodstock-elementary.getalma.com and click on "Alma Start forms and tasks." It is in small print under your student's name. Look for the Green + to start. If the forms are asking for a birth certificate or proof of residency, you're in the wrong place. Go back and look for "Alma Start forms and tasks."
If you have never logged into Alma, check your email -including spam- for an activation email with the subject
Welcome to Woodstock Elementary's school and classroom management system, Alma!
Any questions can be directed to our admin assistant, Tiffany Hecker (thecker@wcsu.net). The deadline to complete these forms is Wednesday, September 21.
The completion of these forms is required for students to participate in field trips, even walking field trips in the village.
