Word Detective Badges
Mrs. Brown's class at Dorr Elementary has been working hard to earn their word detective badges. Each day they have been given missions to work on strategies to help them decode unknown words and read known words in a snap. Last Friday, November 10th, the “word detective agency” acknowledged the hard work as readers and students were given their word detective badges.
Monster Project
Art students from Mr. Gundersen's Art of Design art class and 3rd graders from Mrs. Jurkowski's class at Steeby have collaborated on the Monster Project. https://themonsterproject.org/ A few weeks ago, the 3rd graders drew an original design of a monster with color and a few details telling more about their monsters. Mr. Gundersen's HS art students then reimagined the monsters. HS students then visited Steeby to return the original art and share the reimagined art. Students were so excited to see the finished work.

WMU Middle School Honor Band
Two students from our middle school band were selected to attend WMU’s middle school honor band held on Tuesday! Students spent the entire day rehearsing their music with nearly 150 musicians from all over Michigan. Students also got to work with Brian Balmages, a wonderful educator and composer well known in the band world. These fine musicians got to play in Miller Auditorium and had the experience of a lifetime!

8th Grade Trimester 1 Celebration
Throughout each Trimester students earn raffle tickets for being responsible, like having their iPads charged, no tardies, no missing work, no E's etc. These go into a big drawing at the end of each Trimester. Funds for prizes were generously donated by WIPTO! Way to be responsible, 8th graders!
