Faith Families are back! For those who are new to Faith Families, it is a program where a student representative from each grade level is made into one group. Each family is named after a saint. It provides students with the opportunity to make friends in different grade levels throughout the school while getting acquainted with another staff member in the building that can serve as another advocate for our students. Throughout the year we will learn about our faith, participate in stewardship activities and attend Mass as a family. We are so grateful to reinstate this fun and rewarding experience for the students.
Faith Families also provide leadership opportunities for our eighth graders. We have received so many compliments from teachers and the students on how the eighth graders made everyone feel so welcome and were fantastic leaders. It has been so rewarding to watch this special group of students transition into their leadership roles.
In collaboration with St. James Academy, Holy Cross participated in Lemon Out Day in support of Pediatric Cancer. We heard that they were really close to meeting their $100,000 goal and it is so fantastic that we had a role in helping them reach this goal for a great cause.
Our seventh-grade students led their first Mass this week and did a great job. It is very heartwarming to see our students all together praising God. Our community is one family and truly has proven our strength the past year. I am so proud of all our students and community for overcoming so many obstacles that have been presented to us with such resilience and grace. Even through all the adversities, the start of the school year has been such a success, it has us excited for what the remainder of the year entails.
