Dear Village Families,

Distance Learning Report Cards

Report cards were mailed out on Friday, November 13. If you do not receive the report card report early in the week the week of November 16 or if the report card was delivered to an old address, it is most likely due to the fact that you still need to complete your ParentVUE Parent Portal to update your address as well as any and all contact information for themselves and emergency contacts.

ParentVUE Parent Portal: To activate your Parent Portal:

1. Get your activation key which by calling the office (545-5754) or emailing Office Manager Rebecca Lacefiled at rlacefield@rvusd.org

2. Go to https://ca-rvusd.edupoint.com/pxp2_login.aspx

3. Complete the "Welcome to School" information.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Four upcoming Wednesdays, November 18th, December 2nd, 9th, and 16th will be parent-teacher conferences. You may want to prepare for your conference by reflecting on your child’s strengths, areas of challenge, interests, and talents to share with the teacher. Conferences truly help teachers meet every student’s needs as they work in partnership with you and your student for successful growth during distance learning.

6th Grade Parents: SRCS Open Enrollment

If you are planning for your 6th grader to attend a Santa Rosa City School other than your school of residence, please be aware that SRCS open enrollment closes on November 20. It is important that you apply for an intradistrict transfer through SRCS if you would like to register your student at a middle school other than your school of residence. Character Trait of the Month November and December’s character trait of the month was gratitude. As the calendar year begins to close, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what we are grateful for and to appreciate family, friends, and community. In the spirit of gratitude, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Village teachers and staff for their warmth, professionalism, and daily dedication to the education and well-being of all our students. I am also grateful to the entire Village community—parents, students, families, and beyond—as we persevere through this turbulent time of distance learning!

Thank you everyone for a great photo day. You can still order photos at the link below. Families are able to pre-order photos until November 20th.

If you were unable to have photos taken on the 6th, we will be having a makeup day on Wednesday December 16h. Stay tuned for more information. We encourage all students to have their photo taken even if you don't plan on ordering as these pictures will be used in our yearbook.

In early to mid December all families that had photos taken will receive a link and code to view photos and order additional photos.

If you child is going to be absent from any classroom zoom time due to illness, appointment or other reason please contact the Village School office at (707)545-5754 and press 1 for the attendance line. Please leave your child's name, teacher, the date you called, the reason for the absence.

If you are having technology issues and you are unable to get onto a zoom please also contact the school attendance line.

The application window for Rincon Valley Charter School is now open! If you are new to RVUSD, please click on Create an Account. If your child is currently enrolled in an RVUSD school, please login to your account to begin your application. If you need assistance, please contact either school office at (707) 537-8640 or (707) 308-3600.

**Please contact our office if you are in need of meals and are unable to make pick up times.**

Please fill out the online meal application at www.myschoolapps.com We are offering grab and go meals at each elementary school location Monday - Friday 11:30-1:30 PM for elementary.

The meals can be ordered and paid for online at MySchoolBucks.com. Online ordering is not required but is highly encouraged

Extended Care is offering a After School enrichment program for all RVUSD students! Students would be able to play and practice crucial social skills with their peers. We will host games and art activities every day. We also have access to our school gardens and play structures. Hopefully, parents will be able to enjoy some time to themselves and complete errands without their students!

Due to the small nature of this program, parents will have to register for 3 or more days per week. The price of care can be found at the following link:

Students would be required to wear a mask, regularly wash their hands, and follow all of the same rules that we have in place for students attending distance learning. Please be aware that we will not provide educational support, which is only available for students in the District’s Distance Learning Program.

Please provide this letter to any RVUSD parent who might be interested. Get your student’s friends to sign up and it will be like a regular play date! We look forward to hosting your students. After completing the registration form, you will be contacted by our staff to finalize your registration and placement.

Extended Care ofrece un programa de enriquecimiento después de la escuela para todos los estudiantes de RVUSD! Los estudiantes podrán jugar y practicar habilidades sociales cruciales con sus compañeros. Organizaremos juegos y actividades artísticas todos los días. También tenemos acceso a los jardines de la escuela y a las estructuras de juego.

My name is Kati Hilario. In 2011, I started my Pies for Poverty project, baking

and selling Thanksgiving pumpkin pies and donating the profits to the Redwood

Empire Food Bank. I’ve baked 341 pies since then, and with the generous help of

this community, you’ve helped me raise over $32,429 for the Food Bank. With the

current pandemics and yearly wildfires, people struggling with food insecurity

need assistance now more than ever. Please join me in my tenth year of this

project and support the Food Bank by buying pies for your Thanksgiving table, as

gifts, or as a donation to a first responder or local nonprofit. You may also choose

to make a financial donation through my project by sending a check written to the

Food Bank to me and I will submit it with my project proceeds.

The main newsletter is sent in English to all families however, there is the option to translate it into multiple languages. If you would like to have the translated newsletter please open the newsletter in your web browser and you will see a box to the left that says "translate." Select the arrow to download the translation and choose your preferred language. A screen print is provided below for reference. Thank you!
