News from Dr. Wachel
At Madison, we have various safety measure in place to keep our students, staff, and families safe each and every day. Some of the safety features include:
- Controlled entrance where all visitors must show their ID, sign in with the office staff, and receive a visitor sticker
- All exterior doors are locked throughout the day
- We conduct fire, severe weather, and lockdown drills throughout the year
- Staggered dismissal procedures
To help us keep our students and staff safe, please do not drop students off on Madison or before the cones in our drive. Please snake through the parking lot so students can safely exit on the sidewalk where staff are present. We also ask that students do not arrive or exit their cars prior to 8:00 as there is no adult supervision at that time. Thank you for your assistance and help in keeping our students, staff, and families safe.

Counselor and Social Worker Corner
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. While we don't explicitly address this school-wide at the elementary level, we are very intentional about supporting the whole child, including emotion regulation skills, social/ emotional well-being, and mental health. Here is more information about suicide prevention from Johnson County Mental Health if you are interested. Thank you for helping us foster a community of hope and connection!
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if we can do anything to support your kiddo!
With big hearts,
Jackie Hodson, social worker
