Previous News
Welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year!
Please note that our staff, children, neighbors and friends will be getting back into their own school year routines. Remind kids to look before crossing the street and use only the crosswalks. Please also be patient with us – some lunch lines, parking lot lines and transportation routes may take longer during the first few weeks of school, but these routines will become smoother and faster as the school year continues.
Sign Up Reminder (Bobcat Dash, School Events, Class Parties, Etc)
REMINDERS:
Room parents and permission to contact: In order to receive class and grade level communication from room parents (and to sign up to be a room parent yourself,) please fill out the following form for the Lakeview PTA. Failure to fill out this form means you will not receive communication from room parents. Only one submission per family.
Dash waivers: In October, to celebrate the PTA's fall fundraiser, Bobcat Dash, the PTA organizes a huge ninja warrior obstacle course for all students to complete. We need parents to make sure they've filled out the waiver form ahead (and most of you have: thank you!) If you haven't done so, that waiver can be found here: https://bit.ly/3JToO8i
The PTA's Google form will close this weekend, and we want to make sure families are given a chance to sign up for communication from room parents. If you gathered room parent names on your own, those names can be emailed to our volunteer coordinator, Melinda Webb, at melwebb2011@hotmail.com.
Spirit wear chairs will reach out to you next week about your students' shirt sizes (the PTA provides every student a free, grade-level shirt,) and then we'll leave you alone for a bit, promise.
Thank you!
Carrie Kuhn, Lakeview PTA President
Book Fair
Dear Parents and Families:
Get Ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
Here is what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from September 9th to September 16th.
This year, say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account.
Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:

Parent Square
To change your preferences, just log into ParentSquare and click your name at the top right of the screen. From there, click “My Account,” then “Notification Settings” on the left sidebar. The instant feature will send you all communication as soon as it’s posted by a staff member (this will result in more communication received), and the digest feature will send you an email at 6 p.m. with all communication from our campus (resulting in fewer messages at one time, unless a staff member has opted to send important information instantly). It’s all up to you how you receive our communications!
Meal Information For 2022-2023
Menus for every school are available on the Nutrislice website, which families can access by clicking “Find it Fast” at the top of the Northwest ISD website and then selecting the “Menus” button. School cafeterias continue to accept cash and check payments, and families can load funds into their students’ accounts at www.myschoolbucks.com. Information about meal prices is available at this webpage.
Finally, if you meet certain economic requirements, be sure to apply for the free and reduced-price meal program. With federal funding no longer available to provide free meals at elementary and middle schools in Northwest ISD, it’s imperative that families in need apply for this program to keep receiving benefits should they qualify.

Yearbook:
School Hours: 7:40 am - 3:00 pm
In order to maximize student learning we kindly ask that students be in their seat by 7:40 am. When students arrive late, they miss the opportunity to start the day along with their peers, receive the initial instructions from teachers, and feel settled and prepared for a day filled with learning experiences. Thank you so much for supporting us in making sure all students find success! (Disclaimer: The first week of school is the exception as we understand this is a the time to establish routines and procedures.)
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
A few things that help move morning lines more swiftly is making sure students know how to unbuckle their own seat belts, put on their backpacks, and open their car door so they are ready to exit the car as soon as you pull up to the curb.
