It is hard to believe that December is upon us. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and some time with family and friends over that festive time of year. In just three weeks we will be off for our winter break, but we will busy over these upcoming weeks. Have a great weekend.

Reminder Next Wednesday, December 7th is an Early Release Half Day for parent-teacher conferences. Dismissal will be at 11:45 am.

For grades 1-4, marks closed last week. Reports cards are available in the X2 Family Portal on December 14. Please let the school know if you are interested in a hard copy. Our elementary report cards are standards-based. Instead of letter grades, students receive marks or a code that show how well they have mastered the skills.

Next week, our grades 3 and 4 students as well as students in grades 5-12 will be taking a Social and Emotional Learning survey. The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on the following content topics; Sense of Belonging, Supportive Relationships, Growth Mindset, Social Awareness, Self-Management and Emotion Regulation. Results from these surveys will help the district plan supports for our students.

Next Week we have two grade-level enrichment visits. We thank our BSA for sponsoring our 2nd grade Sub Zero Science Enrichment occurring next Wednesday at Byam as well as our 4th grade author visit with Robert Buyea occurring next Friday the 9th.

Thank you so much to all of our Byam families that came out and supported our book fair, it was another successful event! Your support has earned us more scholastic bucks which we can use to support our school and our teachers!

We also want to give a big thank you to everyone who helped us, we could not have put such a successful fair on without the help of our Byam staff (Tom, Anne, Stella, Betsey, and Lindsay), and our volunteers (Bina U, Emily T, Kelly T, Sean W, Cheryl C, Jen G, June A, Ellen M).... THANK YOU!

Each Byam student will be allowed to bring one special adult for the evening. More information to follow!
