Hey Community Families!

This past Friday afternoon was our most recent Member Meeting. If you missed our Member meeting, here is the link to the zoom recording! Be sure to save the date for our next virtual Member Meeting on May 7th at 5 PM. We've also got elections coming up on May 17-23 (nominations will be held April 19-25), so this is the time to think about how you would like like to be involved next year!

Thank you to everyone who helped support our school with our January Panda Express National Dine & Donate event. Together we raised over $1100 for our school!! Keep an eye out for our details about our February Dine & Donate event being planned now.

CFF has ton of sweet events planned for February! Read on to learn more about the February school distribution, Val-o-Grams & our virtual Sweetheart's Dance, and so many more updates!

Student Council is hosting a fundraiser and is looking forward to spreading the LOVE on campus! Anyone can purchase a Val-O-Gram for a minimum of $1 PER student. If you are sending to a whole class, for example, a class of 24 students would be $24. All money will go directly to CMCS!

Your Valentine will receive a personalized message on Valentine's Day via email and a heart-shaped lollipop at our next Distribution Day. (note: Lollipops addressed to a family member of a student will be distributed to that student's room number.)

Please send your orders to @cmcs-student-council on Venmo by FEBRUARY 9th!

In the transaction description, please write:

1. the sender's name, email, room number
2. the recipient's name, email, room number (for whole class write "everyone in Rm #__")
   
3. your special message (1 sentence)

Please keep orders to one recipient or whole class. If you want to send a Valentine's Day message to multiple people, please make each order a separate VENMO transaction.

Note: Orders that do not provide the necessary information will be rejected and the order will have to be placed again.

**This is not at CFF fundraiser, but the funds raised go to the CMCS Student Body Accounts to support the school.

Join us Friday, February 12th for our virtual Sweetheart's Dance! DJ Adam will bring the party to your living room this year and give us all a much needed opportunity to jump around, show off our signature dance moves, and celebrate our resilient and hardworking kids!

DATE: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12

TIME: There are 2 time slots this year to allow DJ Adam to connect with as many kids as possible, Zoom-style. It is fine to choose whichever works best for your family or to choose both if you have children in lower and upper grades.

• K-2nd grade students to attend from 5:00-5:45 pm
• 3rd-5th grade students from 6:00-7:00 pm

DRESS: Dress to impress in red, white, pink or your favorite CMCS gear!

RSVP: Please Click here to RSVP by Wednesday, February 10th @ 5 PM so we set up our zoom accordingly!

SUGGESTED DONATION: Although typically a BIG fundraising for CFF, this year we are waiving the admission fee! Still, we strongly encourage those who can to donate using the link below. Recommended donation is $5/child or $10/family but we welcome those who are able to give more than that because all money raised foes back to supporting our kids and programs that they love! PHOTO BOOTH WAIVER: CFF will host a virtual photo booth, but it is important to provide permission when you RSVP for your child to participate with his or her friends. The pictures will be electronically sent following the event and may be used in this year's yearbook. Photo Collage of 3 images will cost $2. All proceeds go back to CMCS

DANCE PARTY PACKET: Be on the lookout for the email from the CMCS Dance committee which includes a special "Dance Party Packet" with fun mocktails and snack recipes for the event and activities to do in advance!

THANK YOU to the many families who participated in Pledge Drive and Readathon!! So far, between the two, we have over $206,000 pledged towards our goal of $325,000 for the year! Our teachers and staff are doing an incredible job keeping our students engaged and learning remotely! To ensure robust enrichment, programming, and school support, we still need everyone to contribute to fundraising this year to help us reach 100% participation from all our families!

If you have not yet participated, please consider make a Pledge Drive donation today! Check out your classroom's participation level below!

This Readathon event could not have succeeded without the support of some generous local businesses that donated fabulous incentive prizes for our event! We are incredibly grateful for their support of our students and school community! Please take a minute to check out these businesses, their websites, and services. If you are able, please show your appreciation for their support of our school and community!

CFF elections are coming up May 17-23 and nominations open April 19-25. As we have many parents graduating, we need to fill numerous positions or to serve as co-officers on the Board, as well as looking for new committee chairs. This is great time to start thinking about how you might like to get involved!

Directions for how to nominate yourself or someone will go out in March, but if you are interested in learning more about a position, talking with a current Board Member about their job, shadowing a Board Member, or just want to learn more about what is involved, please email cff@welovecmcs.org or Learn more about the positions and eligibility requirements.

Also, an election ballot will be sent to the email of each parent/guardian, teacher, staff member registered in Fresh Schools. If your spouse/partner is not registered, but you want them to be able to vote, then please be sure to register them in FreshSchools BEFORE the election begins!
