I wanted to send out a quick newsletter describing the Patriot's Point Book we are reading in Science class. This will be a fun and intense unit to get ready for our field trip on March 6th. We will read the book during Science and complete activities during class. The book is titled "Oscar, I am" and incorporates many 5th grade Science standards. This book provides a comprehensive overview of South Carolina's watershed and ecosystems.

Homework will be important to the understanding and participation in each day's lesson. Please encourage your child to complete their homework daily and to pay attention to the important concepts. All of the chapters are short and will be read in class. The student's will be assessed daily.

Monday March 2nd -Read pg. 69 &70. Prepare questions for Meteorologist Dave Williams Interview

Tuesday March 3rd- Do instagram drawing

Wednesday March 4th - Finish hurricane tracking and make wind vane

Thursday March 5th - Prepare for Field Trip

Friday March 6th - Patriot's Point Field Trip

Monday March 9th - Prepare for Field Trip to Bull's Island

Tuesday March 10th - Bull's Island Field Trip

Wednesday March 11th - Read Ch. 7

Thursday March 12th - Read Ch. 8

Friday March 13th - No Homework
