REPORT CARDS … GOING DIGITAL!!
Hot off the press! This year MEI Secondary is moving to Digital Report Cards (now called Learning Updates)!! How does this affect you? A Parent Account will be created for you in order to access your child(ren)’s grades.
Please keep an eye out for more information to come!!

Take Our Kids To Work - Grade 9 Students
Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKWD) is a career exploration day for Grade 9 students across the country, where they spend the day in the workplace with a parent, family friend, relative, community member or other trusted adult. MEI has participated in TOKWD for many years, with excellent feedback from students on their enjoyment and learning from the day. It is often a unique and eye-opening event for our students!
This year, TOKWD is on Wednesday, November 6. There will be no classes for Grade 9 that day, and all students will be expected to be in a workplace. Together with their families, students find their own worksite placements. It can be with a parent/guardian, a family friend, another relative, or trusted community member. MEI also encourages new experiences and opportunities for students who may already be familiar with their parent's work.
TOKWD participation is part the grade 9's career curriculum in their Bible 9 class. Mrs. Weiss, the Career Programs coordinator at MEI, will be facilitating the day. She can be reached for any questions at lweiss@meischools.com. More details and permission forms will come out to students in early October, and forms will be due Monday, Oct 28. Thank you for your support of students in this valuable Career Exploration event!
School Cash Online - Permission Forms and Payment
Please be reminded that all permission forms and payments are now completed through School Cash Online. You can change your account settings in School Cash Online to receive notifications each time a form or fee is attached to your student. This is a great way to ensure that you aren't missing any time sensitive fees or forms! If you aren't sure if you have paid a fee or signed a form, please check your 'history' in your account.
Attendance Reminder
You must report any absence, late arrival, or early dismissal of your child to the school office.
There are two ways you can let us know that your child will be absent or late:
- Contact our office via phone: 604-859-3700
- Email the office directly at secondaryattendance@meischools.com
When students leave school for an appointment (doctor, orthodontist, etc.), parents must call or email ahead of time to notify the office that their child will be leaving. The student must sign out at the office before leaving the school and sign back in at the office upon return to the school.
For absences of 4 or more days, please submit the "extended absence request" form to the office PRIOR to your leave.
