Dear Parents,
Happy March!
We have several school holidays this month. Please note that students are out of school March 21-23.
This month, we will begin the "One School, One Book" project. On March 2, Read Across America Day, we will distribute the book to each classroom to read together. We are excited about the many things we will do in our giant book club!
We have two Volunteer Trainings this month. We are hopeful that we will continue to have events where we can invite parents in. We have been given the "go-ahead" to plan some field trips. We are not allowed to let parents go at this time, but hopeful that this will change in the future. We are having Volunteer Trainings in anticipation of that.
On March 18, we will have a Sock Hop for our students. This is in correlation with a PTO fundraiser. Students may dress like the 50s on that day and will have a time to come to the cafeteria for their Sock Hop.
Excited about all that is going on this month!
COVID guidelines
We no longer are quarantining for household or close contacts.
As well, At-Home COVID tests will be accepted for students. An Attestation Form for At-Home COVID Test must be completed in order for the test to be verified as proof of a COVID test. The appropriate form can be completed by clicking the following link:

We will soon have at-home tests available for distribution if you need one because your child has Covid symptoms.
Core Essentials Character Trait
Fifth Grade
On March 4, the Edwards Middle School band will visit the fifth grade. If your student is thinking about signing up for band for next year, this will be the time that Mr. Marsh shows the instruments and talks about being in the band.
On March 16, the fifth grade will go over for a visit to Edwards Middle School. They will take a tour and hear about electives they may select for next year. Please talk to your student about this visit and make sure to return all paperwork they send.
Also, please save the date for May 17 at 6:30pm. We will have Awards Night at DHS auditorium that night.
Congratulations to Riley, Colton, and Presslie for winning the SME Jet Toy competition!
Coats
Also, please encourage your student to check the lost and found regularly. We have coats, lunchboxes, water bottles, etc. ready to be collected.
