Principal's Message

Dear Larsen Community,

Thank you for your patience and collaboration with us to make this a successful transition for our Larsen scholars. We are grateful for your partnership.

These last few weeks we have been celebrating our entire staff. We wish them all a Happy Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week! I know you join me in extending a great deal of gratitude to the entire Larsen staff; they have all completely reworked what teaching looks like this school year. They have also worked tirelessly to connect with students and families and they've done it with passion, flexibility, and grace; it is clear how deeply invested they all are in teaching and nurturing our young Roadrunners.

COLLECTING ALL TEXTBOOKS!📔📙📒

Textbooks will be collected the week of May 24-28. Please ensure your child turns in all textbooks the last week of school. We thank you so much for your help with this important task!

These devices will be collected as follows:

Cohort A on Wednesday, June 16

TK / Kindergarten Registration🖍🖌🖊📌

Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Registration for the 2021-22 school year has begun. Parents and guardians may pick up registrations at our front office.

Children who turn five years old on or before September 1, 2021, are eligible for Kindergarten. Children who will turn five between September 2 and December 2 are eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK).

Summer School 🌞

Please be on the lookout for summer school information that is forthcoming. We are in the process of planning and preparing for students and will have more to share soon.

HEALTH INFORMATION:

Does your child have COVID-19 Symptoms?

Keep the sick student and siblings' home from school
Notify the school office of the illness
If you would like, test the student for COVID-19 (Link to places to receive COVID -19 test:

If you decide to test for COVID-19, notify the school of the results
Return to school on the date given to you by the school nurse or office staff member

COVID-19 Symptoms

Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore THroat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea

Medications at School

If your student needs to take medications while on campus, please ensure that you have the proper paperwork completed and returned to the school office as soon as possible. The Medication Form can be picked up in the office; please contact the school if you are unsure if you have submitted the form for this school year.

THERE WILL BE NO CAASPP STATE TESTING THIS YEAR.

California has been granted a waiver this year that allows us to use alternative ways to measure student progress. Because students will only be in school for a short time this year, our district has decided to use STAR Reading and STAR Math instead of the CAASPP state tests. This is good news because each of these tests can be taken in under an hour, allowing our children to have more time for learning in the classroom.
