IDEA Authors Prompts
IDEA Authors essay prompts were released this week! The deadline for all students to submit their essays is December 13th and scholars should be writing their essays at home. Ask your child what he/she is planning to write for this month’s essay. Here are the prompts:
2nd – 5th Grades (Due December 13)
Think about a significant character who was not the primary protagonist in a book you’ve recently read.
Write an essay explaining what made the character significant to the story. Describe how the character affected the plot of the novel and/or the actions of other characters in the novel.
You may explain that the protagonist is the central character in a literary work who usually initiates the main action of the story. Note that this essay is asking students to analyze a character other than the protagonist.
