Principal's Message

Good Morning EO Green Families,

We need your support to ensure your student brings the textbooks to school tomorrow, Monday, September 12, and Tuesday, 13, 2021. We are hosting the Williams Audit and your student needs to have all the textbooks assigned to them. Thank you for reminding your child about it.

We reviewed the Student Expectation to be successful at GREEN. Following classroom and schoolwide behavior expectations support the growth of a respectful trait. Please continue discussing these character qualities that will help your child's academic and social-emotional development. Support your student to arrive at school on time; ensure that your student follows a healthy sleeping pattern, goes to bed on time and comes on campus before 7:55 am. Classes start at 8:00am. Please do not drop off your students and leave them unsupervised before 7:30 am. We want your students to be safe at all times.

All students have the potential to accomplish academic success in every subject and continue to grow. Please encourage your students to talk to their teacher if they have questions about the assignments, projects, quizzes/tests. Our responsible HORNET students try their best and turn in all tasks/projects.

Please be aware that tardiness and unexcused absences count against your child's attendance record. We know that sometimes we may face life circumstances that impede our students from being on time in the morning and going home. So, let us know how to provide support to avoid SARB consequences (School Attendance Review Boards). California's compulsory education law requires everyone between the ages of six and eighteen to attend school.

Finally, Back to School night is September 22, 2022, at 5:00 pm. More details are below.

Knowing what you need to do is the first step in being successful on campus. Please bring your school-issued device charged and ready to go each day.

Also, please remember that school-issued devices are monitored at all times for inappropriate use. Please continue to discuss digital citizenship at home and use school-issued devices only for assigned coursework and school-related activities.

On June 30, 2022, The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued the COVID-19 Public Health Guidance for K–12 Schools to Support Safe In-Person Learning, 2022–2023 School Year.

COVID Symptom Reminder and Return to School Requirements

As a reminder, at no time is it acceptable to send students to school when they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, and especially if they have received a positive test result (laboratory based OR at-home test). Please make sure to report all positive cases to your students’ school.

Temperature Screening: Please screen your child at home each day for fever or symptoms and do not send your child to school if he/she is symptomatic or sick.

Students are to stay HOME if:

-If your student does not feel well, keep them home.

-If your student has any COVID-like symptoms, keep them home.

Home tests or antigen tests are now accepted

-Thank you for keeping our school community safe.

Tdap Immunization:

For those 7th grade students that still need their Tdap immunization. VCPH Clinics at 2500 C Street and 2240 E. Gonzales Rd both have free Tdap doses available while supplies last. This is a special arrangement. Students can receive the free Tdap regardless of insurance status. No appointment is needed. The clinics take the last patient at 4:30 pm and are closed for lunch 12p-1pm.
