IMPORTANT INFORMATION: SCHOOL BREAKFAST & LUNCH PROGRAM!
Important Information Regarding the 2023-24 School Breakfast & Lunch Program
Please read carefully the attached information regarding the 2023-24 school breakfast and lunch program. While our participation in the CEP program provides free breakfast and lunch for all of our students, we do believe that the free and reduced applications are tied to other federal funding sources that are of great benefit to our students and therefore respectfully request that families complete the free and reduced application if you believe you qualify based on the income standards included in this letter. These applications can be submitted to your child's school or to the central office. Only one form is required per household.
If you do not have access to a printer, please stop by the administration office or your child's school for a paper copy. Unfortunately, the state does not allow a digital signature so these must be completed by hand.
Please contact us at 317-788-4481 for additional questions!
Thank you so very much and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Take our Hornet with you this summer!
Flat HORNET???
If you have ever read the book series, Flat Stanley, then you understand the idea of a traveling character you take with you on adventures. If you are unfamiliar, then click the link below for more information. The simple version is that Flat Stanley goes on adventures WITH you, your family, friends, etc. All you need to do is take a photo with him to share those adventures.
We want to take this concept this summer and create our own FLAT HORNET! You can find below a pdf version to print or you can simply use your phone to display our beloved mascot. Take photos this summer of your adventures whether that be on vacation, visiting a relative or simply just playing at the local park. The choice is YOURS!! If you would like to participate and be included in some fun social media posts this summer, please send your photo(s) to Mitzi Garman, Director of Communications, at mgarman@bgcs.k12.in.us. Let's give our Hornet a summer to remember!!

After-School Programming Option 2023-2024
After many years of incredible leadership of the Buzz Club program, the City of Beech Grove will no longer be hosting the after-school program. We are so grateful for everyone at the BG Community Center who has been involved in the program management.
We are thrilled to share that we will return to hosting our after school programs onsite at Hornet Park, Central, and South Grove. There will no longer be one centralized location for after school care.
Additionally, we have engaged with the YMCA to lead our after school care programming for school year 23-24. The team at the YMCA is thrilled to return to BGCS to deliver this program and there are some wonderful benefits for our families by engaging with the Y:
1. The YMCA offers financial assistance for families in need.
2. The YMCA offers CCDF voucher eligibility, making after school care programming FREE for families who qualify.
3. The YMCA will staff onsite at each of our buildings. This increases supervision and safety of our programming. The HP site will serve HP students only, the CE site will serve CE students only, and the SG site will serve SG students only.
Programming will run until 6:00pm as usual. We will have snack and dinner service at all sites.
With financial assistance and CCDF vouchers now available through the Y, many will realize a SAVINGS as compared with the current program. And, the YMCA will help families secure financial assistance and apply for CCDF voucher assistance!

NEW COMMON COMMUNICATION TOOL FOR ALL BGCS FAMILIES!
Beech Grove City Schools will be transitioning to a single, unified platform for all communication called, ParentSquare. This will not only ensure equitable access to communication for ALL of our families, but it will also make that communication so much easier. We know some of our families are going back and forth amongst 3-5 different methods of communication. We've seen 5 different apps simply for Beech Grove City Schools! One of the best things about ParentSquare is it's a one-stop shop.
You will be receiving more information from your child's teacher concerning Parent Square, but for now, here is a flier to get you ready!
Once you receive a link to register for Parent Square, follow the steps below:
