"Robinson Middle School will ensure high quality learning that is rooted in excellence for each student."
From The Desk Of Your Principal:
Dear RMS Families,
The end of the first quarter is October 11, 2019. It is hard to believe that time flies quickly. We have officially opened up our PBIS Senator STRONG Store. The store will be open bi-weekly every Friday morning from 8:00am-8:30am. PTO has done a fantastic job with helping us purchase items for the school store as well as volunteering to help students spend incentive bucks in the store. Students are beginning to understand that earning the incentives is linked to our school wide behavior matrix (picture attached in the lower part of the newsletter).
With first quarter ending on October 11th, parents can expect report cards to come home on October 18, 2019. The school report card provides information on how students perform from quarter to quarter. When you receive the report card, please take time to review the report card with your child and celebrate successes or set goals for improvement for second quarter. Below are a few tips to support your child as we prepare to head into the second quarter of the year.
Additionally, regularly reviewing HAC and ensuring you know how your child is performing is critical to helping them to be successful. Please see communication from the Counselor's Corner to gain more information on HAC.

Keep things in perspective. Remind yourself that a report card provides a snapshot of information about your child’s performance over a particular period of time—a period of time that is now well in the past. It doesn’t have to predict the future.
Talk to your child about how he/she is feeling. Take time to really hear what your child is saying. Let her/him know that his/her feelings make sense—and, when she/he is ready to shift into problem-solving mode, help him/her to identify possible solutions. Does he/she need help figuring how to organize her/his school materials and to keep track of important deadlines? Would he/she benefit from a little extra tutoring in a particular subject area? What would make her/his life better and less stressful at school?
Express your confidence in your child. Let him/her know that you have faith in her/his ability to come up with solutions for dealing with the particular challenges he/she is facing at school. At the same time, make sure that your child understands that she/he doesn’t have to deal with these challenges on his/her own. He/she can count on you and other caring adults for support.
Lastly, we have many activities this year to unite our students and community. Please join us for school-wide activities that are shared via school communication. Thank you for your support and enjoy the month of October!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Appiah-McNulty
