News for Faculty, Staff, and Students
The recent expansion of the CPPS to the CPPSET department has resulted in a consolidation of communications related to PPS and long-standing faculty development opportunities and activities as well as emerging educational developments across our campus. This newsletter will be sent out on a regular basis. All things CPPSET may also be accessed on our new Google Site (this link is also found on the Faculty & Staff page), and email contact for CPPSET is made at cppset@guilford.edu.
Of course, Mark (justadmj@guilford.edu) and Sonalini (saprask@guilford.edu) are always eager to hear from you. And this year we have Guilford Senior, Jillian Morrison, serving as the inaugural CPPSET Student Fellow.

Greetings from Guided Discovery! The semester is in full swing, and Spring Registration is right around the corner, so we’d like to provide a few advising resources and highlights:
Check out our website! There a number of useful resources and information found on our site for students and faculty alike, including:
Degree planning and registration tools for students
Guidance on job/internship searching, resume and cover letters, grad school prep, interview prep, etc. for students
The most recent Advising Manual, which has lots of guidance and information for academic advising with students.
We launched a Virtual Help Desk this semester! Our Integrated Advising Mentors are waiting and ready to assist students, faculty, staff, and any other guests with a range of services, including Banner/Navigate help, course registration help, resume/cover letter critique, and general questions. The Virtual desk is a Zoom room via this link (guilford.zoom.us/my/gdhelpdesk), and the semester hours are Monday – Wednesday 9am – 4:30pm; Thursday 11am – 4pm; and Friday 9:30am – 4pm. This information can always be found on the homepage of our website.
As always, students may schedule appointments with their Guides via Navigate. We continue to meet virtually with students by Google Meeting, Zoom, or phone based on their appointment time.
The deadlines for students to register internships for class credit this semester are: September 28th (4 credits), October 7th (3 credits), November 4th (1-2 credits). Inquiries for internship search/registration for this semester and continuing into Spring 2021 can be directed to Amber Slade (sladea@guilford.edu).
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Faculty participation in the Major Mixer, the week of November 2nd, will be crucial to making this event as successful as last year! Interested students (and those who didn’t even know they were interested) will learn more about the available programs at Guilford, gather information about possible majors, and find out what opportunities might be available to them. It is a great chance to recruit students!
Please let the Guides know if you have any questions or would like to connect. You can reach us at guideddiscovery@guilford.edu, or contact a specific Guide.

Details to follow. Questions about Guilford's QEP may be addressed to Damon at speakup@guilford.edu.
Weekly Faculty Lunch for Fall 2020
The pandemic has interrupted our ability to gather together and informally share news and concerns with one another over lunch. A minor interruption in the big picture, but still a real loss. So, this fall we are offering two versions of faculty lunch to allow at least some our prior "normal" to be a part of the week.
First, for those on campus, Wednesday lunch is available in the Cafeteria by signing in at the front desk. We are foregoing the use of "swipes" for the time being so lunch is available only on Wednesday. IRL faculty lunch will be available through Nov. 19th.
Second, a series of virtual faculty lunches is being held on Wednesday's from 1pm – 2pm from Sept 30th through Dec 2nd. These unrecorded zoom sessions will be a chance to catch up with each other with some informal presentations from faculty and staff mixed in to keep us informed. Please join us virtually as you are interested and able:
