The COVID-19 Dashboard Is Now on the CFSD Website
The Catalina Foothills School District COVID-19 dashboard is now live on our website. The purpose of this data is to provide our families and staff with the number of active COVID-19 cases by school.
How does the dashboard work?
If a person who tests positive was on campus during their contagious period as defined by health officials, school administrators will report the case to the Pima County Health Department (PCHD) and they will notify close contacts. The case will be added to the dashboard.
If a person who tests positive was not on campus during their contagious period, the information will not be included on the dashboard.
When is the dashboard updated?
The dashboard will be updated daily, typically at the end of the day.
When are cases removed from the dashboard?
Individuals who test positive are excluded from participation in any in-person/on-campus activity until school personnel verify that the individual meets the return criteria set by state and local health authorities. Once the person is cleared to return, they are no longer considered an active case, and their case is removed from the dashboard.
Can you include more information?
In order to protect privacy, CFSD will not share names or identifying information about individuals. We do provide that information to the PCHD, and we work with them to identify and notify close contacts. In all cases, CFSD follows the direction of the PCHD.
Visit this link to view the dashboard.
Water Bottles and Masks PLEASE!
We don't have any more child sized masks in the office. They are on back order, and the adult sized masks don't fit very well on our younger students.
5th graders figured out for us today that if we give every kid a cup or a mask every day of school, we would have to buy 97,200 cups or 97,200 masks. We definitely don't have that in our budget!
Please send your child with a mask and a water bottle or a cup every day.
Family Teacher Teams: Help improve your student's success at school
Your child's teacher will host the first of 3 parent-teacher conferences for the year via Zoom starting mid-September. Stay tuned for grade level day/time details!
By attending you will:
- Receive information about your child's individual progress
- Spend time with your child's teacher and see what they’re working on in class
- Learn new tools & strategies your family can use at home to help your child learn
- Set learning goals with the teacher to help your child be more successful!

Hi! Mr. K here. In addition to teaching General Music at Ventana Vista I will be teaching choir. I am eagerly anticipating working with your 4th and 5th graders and hearing them lift their voices and sing. Choir will be starting the week of August 30th. Choir will meet every Wednesday and Friday from 3:00-4:00 pm. Students do NOT need to attend both days, but need to pick one and attend regularly. There will be occasional combined rehearsals and you will be notified in advance. If there are any questions please email me at tkoenig@cfsd16.org. Thank you!

Looking for Book Fair Committee Chairs
Our fall book fair is scheduled for Sept. 29 - Oct. 8 and we are in need of a couple of volunteers who would like to organize the event, working in conjunction with the representative from Scholastic. The fair will be held outdoors and will give the students a chance to do some fun book shopping. Please email ventanaffo@gmail.com if you are interested in helping with this event.
Thank you for your donations to the Bobcat Bucks and Kindness Matters funds!
