From the Principal's Desk
November 16, 2020
Hello Fabulous FWAFA Families -
Please join me in congratulating our students, teachers, staff, and the entire FWAFA community for being recognized by the GreatSchools.org as earning the College Success Award for 2020.
This award signifies that our students are graduating and succeeding in 4-year colleges and universities. We were among the top ranked high schools in the following data areas: % of students graduating in 4 years, average SAT score, % of students entering a 4 year college or university, and % of students who enroll in a second year at a 4-year college or university.
I always say that achievement and recognition such as this comes from hard working and engaged students, talented teachers who nurture learning and innovation, and supportive, involved families and community members. Thank you to everyone for making Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts and our extraordinary students soar to the top!
In keeping with our current TCA+A notification guidelines, our school is currently in Stage 3 - Modified Operations as we currently have three or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 at either TCA+A campus. For more details on our procedures and guidelines, please visit our website at https://www.artsacademics.org/covid-19-information-center/.
Creatively yours,
Dr. Jackson
Student Council Wants Your Feedback!
Friday, December 11: Welcome to the 60s!
We are all getting so excited for the release of Welcome to the 60's. This has been produced by our theatre department but was open to all high school students to audition. It is full of musical numbers and scenes either written or set in the 1960's. This is absolutely family friendly and there is something for everyone. You will not want to miss our talented students as they do what they love in a year like no other!
Beautifying Our School: Cafeteria Mural Project
It's not too late to contribute your ideas for our cafeteria mural project.
Our Student Council and National Art Honor Society invite all students to participate in generating ideas for a painted mural in our school cafeteria. The mural content will represent all of the arts at FWAFA. StuCo and NAHS are seeking more input following our latest StuCo Town Hall.
Complete the form link below to submit your ideas. We encourage you to submit a drawing or a piece of art, but if you don't, fill out the form so we have ideas for sketches. Deadline to submit your ideas is November 16 at 11:59pm.
Thankful Loaves Tradition Continues
A Message On Behalf of Our PTSO Staff Appreciation Committee
A tradition here at FWAFA is a little thing we call "Thankful Loaves." As a Thanksgiving Treat, we are offering to bake loaves of bread for our amazing staff. What better way to tell our teachers and staff how thankful we are for them, than by making homemade bread!
So, we need your help! Please sign up below to bake a loaf (or more) of bread to donate.
We need pumpkin and banana bread (Full Size Loaves).

You can drop off your bread on WEDNESDAY November 18th by 8:00am in the FWAFA Conference Room.
Staff Appreciation truly appreciates your help!
Date: 11/18/2020 (Wed.)

Each year our awesome PTSO helps teachers and grade level teams put together Amazon Wish lists. If you would like to show some appreciation to our hard working teachers and provide needed classroom materials and supplies, you can find all of their wishes here.
