The Oak Lawn-Hometown PTA District Council is offering three $1,000 scholarships in honor of Helen Whalen, a devoted volunteer who served in District 123 schools and on the PTA for many years. To be eligible, the student must be a graduating high school senior who ranked in the upper 50% of their class during the first semester of senior year, attended at least four school years in District 123, and plan to attend a community college, university, or trade school. The application deadline is March 22, 2023, and all required pages, including transcripts, must be mailed in or hand delivered together. Winners will be notified by April 24th and invited to attend an awards dinner on May 8th at Sward Elementary School with their families.
