Has your child returned their Chromebook to school yet?
K-2 Parents – If your student borrowed a Chromebook for the strike, PLEASE return it as soon as possible! These computers came from the carts that all K-2 students share, and we are still missing several carts’ worth of Chromebooks! IT will be locking unreturned Chromebooks at some point in the near future. Thank you for your help in rebuilding these important tools!
From the TAG Coordinator
Talented and Gifted Winter Nominations:
The process starts with a conversation between parent/guardian and the classroom teacher. Together you can decide if the student meets the qualifications and/or should be tested. Students with test scores from last spring and fall that qualify for TAG have already been sent out to families. If you did not receive notification and you would like to nominate the window will be open until January 26th. The three areas that PPS identifies in are intellectual, reading, and math. You may decide to nominate in any area that applies. Once the parent/guardian has communicated/requested nomination, the teacher will fill out the required form and submit work samples. If further testing is required to make a determination the school, in coordination with the TAG office, will schedule the tests to be given. Notification regarding identification status will be sent out in early spring and be active the following year. Again, please inquire/request with the classroom teacher as they are responsible for filling out the nomination form. They will be able to discuss work samples and assessment data in regards to TAG requirements.
If you missed the TAG Night on December 13th the district video of the slide show is here.
If you have further questions please reach out.
