Dear Oak Ridge Families,
This week, students participated in the Great Shake Out Earthquake Drill. Paving Pros surprised staff with milk"shakes" that afternoon. Thank you Paving Pros! Mrs. Jones' class had fun learning about food chains and created food chains. Mrs. Madsen's class created leaf creatures in art. Mrs. Schenimann's class created "Falling Into Space" Projects. Kindergarten students working with apples to paint fall pictures in art.
Students have been bringing in storybook pumpkins where students have decorated a pumpkin to look like their favorite storybook character. We have some interesting pumkins! I look forward to seeing all of them when they are finished.
Reminders:
Parents, please call the office before 2:30PM to change a students dismissal process or send a note signed by the parent to school. Teachers will not make changes based on a student's word. We must have a phone call or letter from the parent.
October 26th is the Halloween parade and 1st quarter celebration. Parents, please join us at 2:00 PM in the old gym as we kick of the celebration with a costume parade. Classroom party treats can be dropped off at the office the day before or the morning of October 26th. Treats need to be prepackaged.
I have included a list of opportunities for community involvement with ORES. Please let me know if you are interested in participating with any of these events or if you have ideas for community involvement at ORES.
Please feel free to reach out if you have questions, need help with school supplies, or need resources to help students be successful at school.
Enjoy the weekend with your family!
Sincerely,
Sonia Wood
