Please keep in mind that CC Events are not drop-off nor are the CC staff responsible for supervising students at these events. Parents are responsible for providing supervision of their children for every Community Connection activity, event, and field trip. Families may work together to carpool, but an adult must be present at all activities.

March Park Days

The Lending Library Will be at our CC Park Days!

This is exciting news! The Lending Library will be attending our CC Park Days. They will be there for families to drop off enrichment items that are no longer needed or pick up enrichment items that are ordered online. The Lending Library will be bringing an assortment of educational items for families to check out as well. Thank you to our Lending Library.

Here are some educational activities that you can do as an extension project after the Park Day

TK/Kinder

Have your TK/Kindergartner work on their alphabet (Upper and Lower Case) by playing the attached "Leprechaun Golden Coin Matching Game".

1.2 I can write letters or letter like shapes to represent words.

1.3-I can write my first name nearly correct.

K-

Standard:

R.F.K.1- I can recognize upper case & lower case letters.

R.L.K.7- I can use the illustrations to tell a story.

1st Grade

Have your 1st grader write down the steps that they would use to catch a leprechaun. Then encourage your child to put the steps together into complete sentences. They may draw pictures of each step to get their imagination engaged.

W.1.5-I can revise and edit my writing.

2nd Grade

Have your 2nd grader write three complete sentences about what they would do if they found a "Pot of Gold". Your child can use the attached sentence starters to help them start each sentence in a different way. Then, have your child read their sentences aloud. Talk to them about editing their writing to make it a masterpiece. For example, they could change a word to make it more interesting

3rd Grade

Have your 3rd Grader take ten minutes to write a paragraph on "What would they do if they found a Pot of Gold at the end of a Rainbow". Place the attached sentence starter worksheet in front of them to help them with developing their thoughts.

4th Grade

Have your 4th grader write a paragraph on the Leprechaun bait they would use to catch a Leprechaun. Your child can use the attached story organizer to come up with their ideas, thoughts, materials and steps.

Have your fifth grader write a multiple paragraph essay about their experience in catching their pet Leprechaun. Their essay can include; how they build their Leprechaun Trap, the events in catching their Leprechaun and the experience and opinion in having a Leprechaun as a pet.
