Continuous Achievement Data
Liberty Point Family,
The Fulton County Board of Education supports our vision that each child should be given the opportunity to learn to his or her full potential. To that end, our continuous achievement framework for advancement allows each child to progress in language arts and math at his or her appropriate instructional pace and depth, expanding and compacting the curriculum as
appropriate. I am proud that Liberty Point has 20% of our students enrolled in advanced courses in math which exceeds the district average of 10%. In English Language Arts, we have 18% of our students enrolled in advanced courses which exceeds the district average of 12%. Let's continue to push our students to ensure that they are all being challenged at the appropriate level. We are doing amazing work and I am proud of our school community! If you have any questions about this information, please let us know.
Thank you,
Mr. Payne

Get it Right, & Keep it Tight! -Ruth Bader Ginsberg
It's time to tighten up structures that promote maximum student learning, engagement, and agency.
-Read Alouds should include focused standard work, Skill work, and Vocabulary work to lift the level of student's thinking. Use the Breakout rooms for partnerships to talk. Student engagement is dropping only using the chat feature and cold calls. We have to ramp up the engagement.
-Mini-Lessons in 10 minutes or less(Revised) (Active Engagement can still be 2-3 minutes in breakout rooms)
-Aggressively Monitor the Active Engagement Portions of the Mini-Lessons
-Allow Students to do independent work in Table Groups
-Shoot for at Least one small group per day in Reading and Writing Workshop (Being Realistic with the times we are in; You are permitted to do up to two groups, but communicate it with the parents on your schedule)
-If doing one group, shoot for 4 conferences, if doing two groups, shoot for 2 conferences

AVID Strategy of the Month: Two and Three Column Note Taking
- The more they will understand
- The more they will retain important information
- The more they will succeed
Note-taking skills are the foundation for student success in academic classes and study groups in content that is difficult or rigorous.
Learning to take thorough, usable, and reference-handy notes takes time, practice, and familiarity with note-taking strategies.
