WHENSATURDAY, MARCH 18TH, 10AM-12PM
WHERE: Lothrop School3447 U.S. 7
PITTSFORD, VT
Come see over 60 baskets and gift certificates! We are raising money for a field trip to Boston in June.
Lothrop Middle School students are selling basket raffle tickets to raise money for their field trip to Boston. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six tickets. We have over 60 great baskets and gift certificates in the raffle. Please see below for info on each basket. Feel free to share this Basket Raffle Newsletter with family and friends who are far away. They can see all the baskets right here and let you know which ones they want to bid on! The raffle is also open during parent conferences on March 9 and 15 in the lobby of the school, and March 18 from 10 AM-12 in the Gym. We will pick winners at noon. You do not have to be present to win, we will contact all winners.
Drop-Off AM
*Please continue to use the lower lot for drop off in the morning. We are beginning to have several families wait until 8:00 and then drop off in the upper lot. Staff need to get into the building at 8:00 to begin school and there is a bus that arrives right at 8:00 as well.
*There is always a staff member in the lower lot until 8:00 AM. Please remember to walk your child into the building after 8:00 AM.
*I recognize that everyone's mornings look a little different and we have a 25 minute arrival window, beginning at 7:35 AM so that we can accommodate all and get school started at 8:00 AM.
*As we are over half way through the year, it is a time when building independence with exiting/entering the car is helpful with drop off and pick up. We recognize that child locks and some car seats require families to get out and we understand. When at all possible, please encourage independence.
*Please pull to the last cone near the exit if you are the next person entering the drop off zone, we can typically line up 5 cars beside the cones. As always, unless a staff member ask you to unload or load before you are next to the drop off zone, please wait so that we can keep everyone safe and keep the line moving.

Illness and Attendance
In an effort to assist families who are navigating illness and absences, the school nurse has put together the following guidelines. Please reach out to Melanie Parker, School Nurse if you have any questions or concerns.
Please keep your child home for at least 24 hours if they have:
1. Fever over 100.0 F (without Tylenol or Ibuprofen)
2. Vomiting
3. Diarrhea
Please also keep them home if they have:
4. Unidentified Rash
5. Uncontrolled Cough
{If your child requires Tylenol or Ibuprofen in the morning, it may be best to keep them home for the day.} If you are unsure of whether to send your child to school or not, please feel free to call the school and ask.
If your child has been absent for 10 days or more, the school nurse will be calling each additional day that your child is not in school. Absent days will be excused if:
a note from a medical provider is received or
a parent has spoken with the school nurse.
Girls on the Run
Volunteer to be a Girls on the Run coach for Lothrop School this spring! The impact of a Girls on the Run volunteer coach is as boundless as it is beautiful. The Girls on the Run programming is an after school program that uses a research based curriculum to empower, increase self-worth and spark joy in its participants.
Our 10-week season begins the week of March 27. Our team will meet twice weekly for 90 minutes each session to connect, move, learn and have FUN! Not a runner? Haven’t coached before? No problem! Girls on the Run VT (GOTRVT) provides training, easy to follow lesson plans, supplies and support from GOTRVT for a transformational season.
Visit gotrvt.org/coach to learn more or sign up to volunteer. Questions? Contact GOTRVT at Info@girlsontherunvermont.org or 802-871-5664. Ready to register? Sign up here.
