Pre K and Kindergarten Roundup is this week on Thursday: I'm so excited to meet and get our newest dragons registered for next year. This means we will have parents and students taking tours throughout the day from 9-2:30. The tours will be the community part of our building (Enrichment Areas, Cafeteria, and Library) and K hallway. Please talk to your students about setting an example with proper hallway and classroom behaviors. Don't be afraid to revisit Looks Like Sounds Like at this time of year. I would like to see everyone on staff with this years convocation shirt so we look united. Thanks in advance to the office staff, Kindergarten team, and Pre K team for helping with this event.
New District Screener Dates- I apologize for just sending out these new dates through an email today. Valerie and Nikki have worked hard to share with you a plan. Then I receive today the new dates. 3rd and 4th has a May 14 date for screeners, but it is also STAAR Math day. LOL If these new dates are giving you heartburn, please write or come see me. Together we got this!
Adopt a 4th grade class: Our 4th graders will be taking the STAAR writing test next week on Tuesday. We have done this in the past. I would like to see if each grade level could adopt a class and make a motivation sign or banner for that class. I will have Kathy send you the list of student names for that class. Use your creativity. I want our students and teachers to feel the love and support from all of us. If this is going to cause your grade level heartburn, please let me know.

Thank you 4th Grade Teachers for you cute STAAR Writing skit at the pep rally. The Lake Ridge HS drumline was amazing as well.
Plan in advance for STAAR Writing Day- We will have Enrichment classes for K-3rd. If all of 4th grade is done, then we will have for 4th grade as well. However, fourth grade must have everyone done and we have students with extended time. We will block off over by first grade again for recess time. Plus, I need everyone to roll their lunch container into the cafeteria right after announcement. We will be a closed campus that day to visitors for lunches. We have students testing all over the building in small groups. Please let your parents know this week.
Field Day: It is fast approaching and requires all hands on deck. As you know, we open our campus up on this day. Due to safety issues, all visitors must have a badge on. We will be sending a note home to parents this week with details on getting a fast pass badge and not waiting in line.
Summative Conferences- I will roll out the protocol next week to team leaders for them to share with your team. I will also then share a document to help you prepare for these meetings. It is hard to believe the end of school is coming soon.
