MMS WEEKLY UPDATE

Come celebrate the end of the year at the MMS Outdoor Social! There will be yard games, music, and concessions for everyone to enjoy. Leadership will be hosting this fun event on the track/baseball fields on Friday, June 10th from 6pm to 8pm. Anyone interested in chaperoning please e-mail Alison Yeager at ayeager@meridian.wednet.edu.

As a reward for meeting or exceeding goals on the iReady assessment, many students have earned a field trip to the Lynden Skateway. The trip will happen on Thursday, June 9th. Students will be leaving the school at 12:25 and returning at 2:30 before our dismissal.

June 4th - Lynden Farmers Day Parade (Front St in Lynden) from 9am-12pm

June 7th - Choir Concert at MHS at 7pm

June 8th - Jazz Band to perform at Trinity Lutheran Preschool 9am-12pm

June 14th - 8th grade promotion

Tuesday, June 14th is the last day of school! The 8th grade promotion will begin at 10:00am in the west gym and will be followed by desserts and refreshments. After the ceremony the students will be released to their families. The 6th and 7th graders will participate in scheduled activities during the day and a BBQ style lunch will be provided. It is an early release day and students will be dismissed at 12:20.

Lunch menu for the month of June!

The current USDA waiver that has allowed schools to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students is set to expire at the end of this school year. This means that for the 2022-23 school year we will be transitioning back to regular prices for school meals, with free/reduced price meals for qualified families. We realize that will be a shift for all of our families and want to be sure you are aware now. Students with an approved free/reduced meal application on file will continue to be covered under that application through Oct. 13, 2022. Meals are still free for all students through the last day of this school year.

Free/reduced meal applications for the 2022-23 school year will be available in mid-August. We will notify families if any changes occur to the USDA waiver for the 2022-23 school year.

Cynthia Richardson will be hosting in-person drop-in help sessions during the second week of June for any parent who wants support getting onto the GoGuardian app.

Parents can come on the days/times listed below, even if you don't have a student at that particular school. There isn't a presentation, it's 1:1 help, so you can come any time during that hour.
