Regular school attendance is necessary for success in school. Students are expected to be in school on time unless they are ill or have a family emergency. Missing the bus is not an excuse for absence.
A written note must be sent within 48 hours of a student's return to school stating the dates and the the reason for the absence.
You may use the following email addresses to leave any messages regarding your child's absences:

Spring Sports
Anyone interested in playing a spring sport, which includes boys/girls soccer, boys/girls track and field, or boys tennis need to make sure that they have a physical turned into Coach Turille before Feb 21st. If you played a sport in the fall or winter, those physicals are good for spring. If not, you must have a physical dated after May 1 2021. No physical from last school year will be accepted.
Track and Field
If you are interested in participating in Track and Field, there will be an informational meeting after school on February 7th in Mrs. Parker's room (RM 504). Please plan to have your own ride to pick you up no later than 4pm. IF you have any questions, please email Mrs. Parker at parkersm@lcsedu.net

Interims
Third quarter interims will be available on Feb 15, 2022 (adjusted date due to snow days). Please keep encouraging your students to give their best effort in all of their classes. While we don’t have any details on summer school yet, remember that this is the path for students who fail core academic courses.

Donations Needed
We are restocking our SPOT store and are asking for donations for items that students might be interested in spending their points on. Students earn points for demonstrating LMS’s expected behaviors and enjoy purchasing items from the SPOT store. If you are interested and/or able, please consider donating items. Students love snacks and drinks (limited sugar, please) as well as fun or cute accessories, decor, figits, sports related items, etc. Larger items can be used as raffle items where the students use their points for a chance to win bigger ticket prizes. Ask your student for some great ideas and drop them off in the main office. We would be SO APPRECIATIVE!! If you have questions, reach out to Rene James (jameser@lcsedu.net) or Ayanna Allen (Allenan@lcsedu.net).
Additional Reminders & Updates
Letters are being mailed out to parents/guardians of any student at risk of failing a course for the year.
6th grade students will have the opportunity to attend The Reality Store on February 7th and 8th. Our media center will be converted into a game of “LIFE” and students will be assigned a career and family (assigned randomly) and then have the experience of purchasing life essentials, such as housing, transportation, childcare, entertainment, food and medical care and more. This will jump start our conversations about future planning and prepare us for course scheduling for next year that will happen through Science classes in March.
Tutoring
Remember we have a FREE AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING PROGRAM available for students who have afternoon transportation. Please use the link to access the form to sign up.
Let’s help our kiddos start this semester with attainable goals, good organization, and a predictable time and place to work on homework. Summer school will be required for students who do not pass a core class and retention in their current grade may happen for students who do not show mastery in core subjects. Let’s help them stay ahead!
Food 4 Thought Weekend Food Bags
In past years, weekend food bags have been provided by Food 4 Thought & Park View Community Mission and are once again being offered to families who may have a need for additional food stability on the weekends. Permission forms are available in the main office or by contacting Mr. Carr. Food bags are sent out on Fridays.
Please direct any questions to Mr. Carr. carrmh@lcsedu.net
