5th Grade Reading with Mrs. Karl
I hope you had a fabulous week! Before we all take off for the weekend I wanted to send out an overview of what to expect next week, some resources to help you, and a fun riddle!
Preparing for next week:
Next week we will focus on note-taking strategies and be looking into the lessons you had due the week of the 20th and upcoming lessons for ELA.
Many of your assignments began on Monday the 20th. Please make sure that you are following the assignments listed on your daily plan. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Teacher Graded Assignment:
Literature Q1 TGA1 (quarter 1 teacher graded assignment number 1) will be due on 8/24/18. This can be found in USA Test Prep. Please do not worry that your grade does not update automatically as I manually enter your grade from TGAs.
Upcoming TGA: Composition Unit 1 Writing a Memoir Check-in will be assigned in USA Test Prep and due on 8/29/18. Please make sure you are completing the lessons in the book, but also completing the check-in in USA Test Prep when they are assigned.
Resources:
Please make sure that you have your books organized as we will go through some of them in class next week.

A Candle!
Weekly Riddle:
Each Friday I will send out a Riddle. Please come to class the following week with your answer
In a one-story pink house, there was a pink person, a pink cat, a pink fish, a pink computer, a pink chair, a pink table, a pink telephone, a pink shower– everything was pink! What color were the stairs?
I will share the answer next week in class! Have an amazing weekend!

You will need to have a notebook and pencil for your math class connects, but we will talk about that during class as well. You will start working on Unit 1 Lessons 1-4 next week involving estimation. See you in class!
