A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families and Supporters,
IMPORTANT: CURRENT KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES AND INCOMING KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES!
Incoming K Families
We are excited to bring back Kindergarten screening! We have a comprehensive plan to learn more about our incoming Kindergarten students. We will be scheduling a 45 minute block with each child to work with our school-based team so we can better understand their current skills and areas of focus when they arrive in August!
We will be sending an email on Monday with the sign up for screening as well as some information that might be helpful for the upcoming year. In the meantime, PLEASE SAVE THE DATE. We will hold our Kindergarten Orientation Night on May 18 at 6:00 PM. In addition, children will be screened on June 15.
Current K Families
Due to our need to screen our incoming Kindergarten students, which utilizes both the Kindergarten classrooms and staff, the last day for Kindergarten students will be June 14 (full day). In the future, we promise to have these dates solidified in August so families are aware. The screening process is vital for several reasons and this will be a bump this year that will not continue in the future. Our K students will still participate in all the end of year activities!
Due to the fact that these dates were unexpected, we have arranged spaces and staff for our Kindergarten students on June 15 (full day) and 16 (half day). This will be run similarly to the Rye Rec program and we would like to thank them for their incredible flexibility and teamwork! Students will spend this time in the Rye Rec rooms at RES and the staff will be from Rye Rec as well.
We would NEED to know if families want to utilize this Rye Rec option so PLEASE email Staci Ryan at sryan@sau50.org.
We truly appreciate you,
Michelle Pitts

ATTENTION: ALL FAMILIES!!
We are so excited to let you know that the Yearbooks are in the process of being created for the 2022-2023 school year. Parents and or guardians, aunts, uncles and grandparents, if you would like to write a note about your amazing student, you can do so on a piece of paper measuring 1 ½” x 2 ½” ($2 each) and then hand them to Miss Shari in the office. Please only one response per family as we need to be sure everyone interested gets a space in the yearbook.
A few examples from previous years include:
1. “We cannot believe you are growing up so fast, (name of student), and we are so
proud of all your accomplishments at RES! We love you, Mom and Dad.”
2. (Name of student), you are growing into such a strong and confident young lady.
Share your sparkle with everyone you meet!”, Love Mom, Dad, brother, sister.
Deadline is April 14, 2023

NEW SECTION: Pick a Project!!!
THIS WEEK...
PROJECT 1: ANYONE!
We are looking for clean, empty chicken feed/bird seed bags.
PROJECT 2: Once Upon a Time There Was an RES Book Swap…
As part of RES’s celebration of Earth Day, we want to act on the “Reuse” part of the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle call to action. This year, we are asking Rye families to clean out their home libraries, drop off a gently used children’s book or a bag of children’s books – whatever works for you - at the RES Library before April 19 for an Earth Day Book Swap on April 21.
These books will be set up on tables in the hallway on Earth Day and each class will come by, giving students the opportunity to pick up a book and give it a new home.
PROJECT 3: ANYONE! SUPPORT OUR PLAY!
Would you like to send a "shoutout" to one of our RES students for their work in "Life on a Plate?" Use this link to send one! PROJECT 1: ANYONE!
