The August Flow
Paddle Nantucket's Newsletter, issue #4
Breathe. Flow. Connect. || Mind. Body. Sea.
As the cooler air starts greeting us in the morning, I am reminded once again of the brevity of our New England summers.
Here we are once again, getting ready to shift our rhythm; to say good-bye to many summer friends we love, to say hello to the beginning of a new school year, and to think about new fall and winter projects we're hoping to cultivate.
As many of you know, I took some time off from teaching public classes this season, and spent any extra time I had focusing on growing Paddle Nantucket and putting my new Spinning Certification to work at the Westmoor Club.
In that time, I fell in love with teaching on the bike, and managed to take some time off and complete yet another module on the path towards my Affiliate Training in Prana Vinyasa. I am thrilled to say that after many, many years of study with my teacher, Shiva Rea, I finally submitted all my exams and hours, and am officially a 500hr E-RYT Prana Vinyasa Teacher.
In the next year, I am excited to assist a module or two of Roberto Lim and Andrew McAuley's upcoming 200hr Prana Vinyasa Affiliate YTT in Boston this winter, assisting Shiva on retreat in Nosara Costa Rica in December, and leading a Prana Vinyasa-inspired yoga retreat to the Galapagos Islands in February 2017.
But this is all a ways off....
Here are a few things coming up around the corner:
Acoustic Flow: Live Music + Yoga with Caitlin & Kevin Paris. THIS Wednesday, August 24th from 6-8pm at upstairs at 11 Centre Street. Tickets HERE.
Swim Across America Nantucket: My son, Griffin is campaigning to raise money for Cancer Care here on Nantucket, by joining in the Kids' Splash THIS Saturday during The Nantucket SAA Open Water event. Jetties Beach. 7am, and is hoping for your donation HERE.
The Yoga Room: On Sunday, September 11th, I will return to The Yoga Room, and teach my Sunday Sadhana, Prana Vinyasa inspired Yoga class. 10-11:15am through the off-season.
Tour de Pink for Breast Cancer: from September 16th-18th I will be riding over 200 miles on my road bike to raise money for the Young Survivors Coalition, which supports young women fighting breast cancer. This is my third year riding - and I'm way behind my fundraising goals... Please consider making a donation HERE.
Paddle for a Purpose! Join me Saturday, September 11th, and help me raise it up for the Tour de Pink. This SUP Yoga class will be by donation. Register HERE, and pay what you can in cash at the "door". Please don't register if you can't make it, we will only have 12 boards available. All the proceeds from this class will go towards my fundraising efforts for my ride.
That's all the yoga-related news I have for now.
Can't wait to SEA you on the mat, in the studio or on the board.
Love,
Caitlin
