All Dreamers Are Welcome Here!
August 16, 2021
Dear Alamo Families,
Thank you so much for supporting our school through the Education Fund. Our music, art, and paraeducators for the classrooms benefit all students because of your generous donation.
Teachers continue to assess our students to provide real-time student performance data needed to direct lessons effectively. We have two district-wide assessments: Educational Software for Guiding Instruction (ESGI) and FastBridge. They are screeners, one of the multiple measures teachers use to evaluate students' strengths, weaknesses, knowledge, and skills to inform instruction.
ESGI is administered to all kindergarten students one-on-one to assess beginning foundational skills. FastBridge is for grades 1st-5th. Math and English Language Arts (ELA) assessments are administered as a blend of one-on-one and whole-class online for primary grades and whole-class online for upper grades. These tests are administered three times in the school year to monitor student progress: fall, winter, and spring.
Back-To-School-Night is Tuesday, 8/17. Please see the calendar below for times.
Stay safe and healthy, Alamo Mustangs! Wear your face covering when required and practice social distancing when possible.
Warm regards,
Principal Salazar

ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE AND TARDY POLICY
Attendance Procedure
If your child is going to be absent, please email AlamoAttendance@srvusd.net , giving your child's name, and the reason for the absence, as soon as you are aware he/she won't be in school. Additionally, if you know your child is going to be late for school, please follow the same procedure. Please copy your child's teacher on these emails.
Tardy Policy
Rationale - Tardiness is unacceptable because:
- Tardiness reduces the instructional time of the student who is late.
- A student's tardiness interrupts the class he or she is coming into, resulting in a loss of instructional quality and time for all students.
- Punctuality is a practice valued by business and society; students should be trained in this practice while in school.
With the above as a rationale, the following is our policy:
- Tardiness is defined as arriving after 8:00.
- The student must go to the main office for a tardy pass before going to class.
OFFICE HOURS: 7:30 - 4:00 PM (925) 855-4800
FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE
Welcome to another school year! We are glad to be back in person!
Please remember that we are still in the middle of a pandemic. All students and staff must wear masks indoors at all times.
All student absences should be reported to the AL attendance line which can be reached by emailing alamoattendance@srvusd.net.
Please note that any student absences will need to be cleared by a physician's note and/or a Covid test (home tests are not allowed at this time). This includes absences due to non-illness.
Please refer to the updated Covid guidance that is posted on the district website: Updated Covid Policy 2021-2022
Thank you so much for your attention in this very important matter. We appreciate your cooperation to keep all our school community safe and healthy.
Education Fund
What an amazing first week of school! It felt so good to be back on campus with everyone instead of meeting over the computer screen. I enjoyed meeting many of you at walk-through registration as well.
We are grateful for the outpouring of support for our Annual Giving Campaign. We are now at 83% of our goal for this fundraising drive! To date, we have raised $116,475. Our Annual Giving Campaign target is $141,050 and we hope to raise $278,250 overall this school year to continue to provide excellent programs for our students. You can donate anytime online at: https://aes.futurefund.com/store See where your donation goes here. Thank you Alamo Mustangs!
Another big thank you to Bar Mizne for all her work behind the scenes on our registration website and to Kelly Bowes for leading our Annual Giving Campaign.
