December 2023
A Note From Mrs. Chivington
Dear Valley Vikings,
Believe it or not, we are quickly approaching the end of the first semester of the 2023-24 school year! We have just three weeks left until the end of Quarter 2, and the start of Winter Break. Report cards for this quarter will be sent home on Friday, January 12, 2024. Please remember that you can always access your child's attendance and past report cards in Progress Book. Beginning in fourth grade, you can see your student's daily grades as well. Please let us know if you do not have access and we can help!
Abre is another great tool that provides you will information about your child's attendance, report cards, testing data, and discipline information. A letter was sent home earlier in the year with login information for Abre. If you need a new copy, we are happy to provide one!
Our Lost and Found is already overflowing with coats, jackets, and other student items. We always recommend writing your child's name in his or her belongings to make returning them easier. As previously shared, we are fortunate to have many generous donations of coats, hats, gloves, bookbags, shoes, and other necessities for our students at Valley. We know that many of us will face challenging financial seasons, and we are happy to help provide items for our students when they are needed. Please reach out if your child could benefit from any of the items mentioned above!
Please remember that our PTO is providing a Holiday Shoppe for students December 4-6. Your child's teacher will send home more information with their class' scheduled shopping day. For those of you who registered for the Holiday Breakfast, that will take place this coming Saturday, December 2nd from 9:00-1:00. We look forward to seeing you there!
Students' last school day of 2023 will be Thursday, December 21st. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, January 8, 2024! May you and your family have a wonderful holiday season!
Sincerely,
Sarah Chivington
Principal
