Walking Wednesday
We were very happy to have such a great turn-out for the return of Walking Wednesday. However, we were also very disappointed in the behavior of many students. There was a lot of pushing and shoving, knocking students over, running to get in front of people, running on lawns, and running on the street. These are all unsafe behaviors. In fact, a student was injured when pushed to the ground and stepped on. This is unacceptable behavior. All students were spoken to over the intercom and reminded of safe Walking Wednesday behavior to ensure this is a fun experience for everyone. Any students displaying unsafe behaviors or not listening to the adults will no longer be allowed to participate. We would appreciate your support in reminding your child about appropriate and safe behavior. Thank you!
Please remind your student(s):
- They must have a Walking Wednesday Ticket to participate
- They must walk with the group on the sidewalk all the way up to the school
We welcome and appreciate any parent support to help make this a fun, safe walk for all!
Thank you!

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING CORNER
Having just finished focusing on the theme of perseverance, for the second half of April and first half of May, we are shifting our attention to the theme of Confidence. We all want our children to be confident and have healthy self-esteem but often wonder how. With social and academic pressures and electronics and social media, it is easy to worry. The good news is that what we do at home does matter, even as children get older and appear to care only about their peers. One of the best things we can do to build our children’s confidence is to build our own confidence since children look at us for examples. Over the next 4 weeks we will share articles about ways to build confidence in both your children and your own parenting.
