READ: Changes to the New 2024-2025 FAFSA
The U.S. Department of Education will be releasing the new 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in December 2023, and there are significant changes to how the form is completed by parents and students. The biggest change: your FSA IDs will need to be created at least 3-5 days prior to starting the FAFSA.
State Financial Aid Applications are Now LIve!
Applications for the Promise Scholarship, West Virginia Invests Grant, and West Virginia STEM Scholarship are now open in the WV Student Aid Management (WVSAM) system. Students will need to create a WVSAM Account before applying.
At the same time, students can and should create their FSA ID. For both systems, we encourage students to use a personal email address they will have access to after high school graduation and not their K12 email address.
Students (and parents) should create an FSA ID at studentaid.gov while waiting on the 2024-2025 FAFSA to launch.
