Dear Parents,

Happy April!

We have many things going on this month.

Students in all grades will take Spring MAP assessments. It is important for students to do their best to show the growth they have made this year. Please encourage your student to take his/her time and stay focused during testing.

During the week of April 11, we will have an Artist in Residence visit our fifth grade. He will work with them to teach drumming and rhythms from all over the world. We will have a performance on Friday, April 15. Fifth-grade parents may attend. More information will be shared about this as it gets closer.

We have STEM night on April 12 from 5:30-7:30. Our theme is "Down on the Farm". We will have a petting zoo, STEM activities that are farm-related, booths from local vendors, an ice cream truck and more! We hope you will be able to attend! Look for a flyer to be sent home with more details.

Spring Break will be April 18-22.

Our last All Pro Dads will be April 28 at 6:45 am.

As we begin fourth nine weeks, we have been talking a lot about finishing strong! Sometimes when the spring weather begins, it is easy for students to lose focus. We want all of our students to do their best this nine weeks. Please help us encourage them to FINISH STRONG!

COVID guidelines

We no longer are quarantining for household or close contacts.

As well, At-Home COVID tests will be accepted for students. An Attestation Form for At-Home COVID Test must be completed in order for the test to be verified as proof of a COVID test. The appropriate form can be completed by clicking the following link:

We will soon have at-home tests available for distribution if you need one because your child has Covid symptoms.

Core Essentials Character Trait

Our character trait for the month of April is Hope. This is believing that something good can come out of something bad. Mrs. Orr will go in classrooms and do lessons with hope this month. We will celebrate our students who show hope and encourage others in this area at the beginning of May.

Coats

Please help us with our lost and found by labeling your students' things with their name. We will get items back to them if they are labeled.

Also, please encourage your student to check the lost and found regularly. We have coats, lunchboxes, water bottles, etc. ready to be collected.

Testing in May

Please be aware that students do best when they test with their class. It is important for students to attend school and be on time for testing days.

YAMS instruments

Rented instruments can be returned to Six Mile Elementary and we will get those turned into the YAMS program.

K5 Open House

We will have an Open House on Friday, April 8 for all rising K5 students. Tours will be given at 8:30, 10, and 1. Please come to the main office to check in prior to a tour time.

We will visit the cafeteria, the playground, the media center, and the four kindergarten classrooms during the tour.

Office personnel will also be available to answer your questions about registration and other matters.
