The Scituate Public Schools are excited to announce that they have been selected by the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) into the Eligibility Period related to the Statement of Interest for the Hatherly School. During this 270-day eligibility period the district and town will work together to complete the preliminary requirements which include among others the establishment of a building committee and completion of an Educational Profile Questionnaire. The Educational Profile Questionnaire describes the District’s current and proposed educational facilities, teaching methodology, grade configurations, and program offerings, as well as enrollment projections, and confirmation of community authorization to proceed with the project.
The hope is that this long term project will address the educational needs and current facility shortcomings to provide the children of Scituate with world class 21st century facilities to match the current and future teaching methodologies necessary for student success.
The District would like to thank the MSBA for moving SPS into the pipeline for shared cost funding of a project of this magnitude. We would also like to thank the many members of our community who have been engaged in this process already, including Senator Patrick O’Connor, Representative Patrick Kearney and Representative Joan Meschino.
