Hi There! from Stacy Gamez!
I am so happy to be back! I don't know if any of y'all have watched the the Mickey Mouse cartoon where Huey, Dewey, and Louie were having Christmas everyday. Well, they got to the point when they wanted no more of the same Christmas Day and that is how I felt during the quarantine. No school and no church, I felt like I was just going through the motions of what seemed like the never ending Spring Break. Never say, you can not have to much of a good thing!
For those who don't know me. I teach 5th Grade Math. In the previous years, I was in kindergarten and pre-k. So now I am seeing many of my previous students that I had in kinder. It is fun to see them older and mature and heading to junior high.
This my eighth year, all in Meadow. My only child, a daughter, is a freshman this year and she started school here in Meadow. We have enjoyed our journey here. We love Meadow ISD!
If ever you want to make contact quickly please go through Class Dojo, but if you want to sit down and discuss any concerns please call the school and set up a conference.
Special Thanks to the PTO for all the goodies y'all send our way! Thank you!
Meet the Principal, Mrs. Coffman
It is an honor to introduce myself as your principal of Burleson Elementary School and welcome you to this extraordinary school community. I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each day while providing them a world-class learning environment.
I am an experienced elementary teacher and administrator, but in addition to my role as an educator, I am first and foremost a mother and wife. In August, my son, Klinton, began sixth grade here in Meadow and my husband, Chase, works for the Lubbock Fire Department.
The 2020-2021 school year will mark my 13th year in education. I am a small-town graduate of Eula High School and spent most of my career near my hometown in Abilene ISD.
My role as an elementary principal, where I have been most fulfilled in my life’s work, provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers daily, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. I firmly believe that every child can excel and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community and our nation.
I hope that you are excited for this coming school year! It is going to be a fun year learning together.
I wholeheartedly welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year. Let us always keep our students as the primary focus of our work. I look forward to seeing you or connecting with you in the fall and celebrating our collective successes during the 2020-2021 school year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tabitha Coffman
