Varsity Baseball

The team squared off at home vs Peck for a pair of NCTL games on Monday, May 16th in Dryden, splitting the doubleheader. In the first game, they took a 5-2 loss but then they came back strong in the second game with a 6-1 win. The overall Record was 12-5, and the NCTL League Record was 7-3.
Game 1 Stats (5-2 loss):
In this first game, Marty Barker had two strong hits followed by Sonny Coscione with 1. Zack Lemke and Joe Breeding had 1 walk each. Breeding and Coscione both scored a run and Barker received 2 RBI. Ledford stole 1 base for the team.
In pitching, Dylan Ledford took the loss. He pitched 5 and two-thirds innings. He gave up 2 earned runs and 0 walks and 11 strikeouts.
Game 2 Stats (6-1 win):
Dylan Ledford started the second game with 3 hits followed by Zack Lemke with 2 hits including a double. Marty Barker, Charlie Fliedner, and Mason Stofcheck each had 1 hit. Charlie Fliedner, Owen Gall, and Josh Harris added 1 walk apiece.
Lemke scored 2 runs for the team and Barker, Harris, and Fliedner each scored 1 run.
Ledford achieved 2 RBI and Fliedner got 1. Barker and Ledford stole 2 bases each and Breeding, Lemke, Giles, and Harris each stole 1.
In the pitcher duel, Zack Lemke got the win. He pitched 5 and one-third innings, giving up 1 earned run, 1 hit, 0 walks, and striking out 12 Peck batters. Sonny Coscione came on to get the last 2 outs of the game and seal the victory for Dryden.

Varsity Soccer
On Monday, May 16th, the Dryden/ Imlay City girls soccer team played against North Branch High School in North Branch. The girls played an impressive game, mercying North Branch, 9-1. Junior Jessica Peters scored four goals, senior Jenna Peters scored one goal, and freshman Kierstyn Stankevich scored one goal as well. Kierstyn Stankevich, Jessica Peters, and Jenna Peters each made an assist throughout the game too. Senior Ashley Hickmott made a total of five saves as goalie throughout the game. Great job on the amazing win girls!
On Wednesday, May 18th, the Dryden/ Imlay City girls soccer team played at home against Croswell- Lexington High School. The girls played a marvelous game being that it was Dryden/ Imlay City’s senior night for the girls soccer game, Dryden/ Imlay City won the game 4-0. Junior Jessica Peters scored three goals and senior Jenna Peters scored one goal. Freshman Kierstyn Stankevich assisted one goal as well. Senior Ashey Hickmott made a total of nine saves and junior Jessica Peters made one save as goalie, collectively throughout the game. Great job on the win and congratulations to graduating seniors on the Dryden/ Imlay City girls soccer team who celebrated senior night on Wednesday!
Varsity Girls Track

On the 17th, Varsity Girls Track went to their League meet at Peck. They placed 4th overall with 85 points. The 4x200 relay (Delaney Wolle, Sophia Peter, Keira Miller, Olivia Stickler) took 1st with a time of 1:57.98. Olivia Stickler took 2nd in both the 100 and 400. Her 100 time was 13.63 and her 400 was a 1:07.84. Sophia Peter also placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles with a 53.23. Delaney Wolle placed 2nd in the 200 and 3rd in the 100. Her 200 was 29.88 and her 100 was 14.18. Keira Miller placed 3rd in the 200 with a time of 30.69 and Audrey Napolitano placed 3rd in the 3200 with a 14:09.63. The 4x400 relay team (Delaney Wolle, Keira Miller, Sophia Peter, Olivia Stickler) also took 3rd. Their time was 4:48.38.
Last Friday, the Track team raced at Marlette at their Regional Meet. They placed 5th overall with a total of 62 points. The 4x200 relay team (Delaney Wolle, Sophia Peter, Keira Miller, Olivia Stickler) placed 1st overall with a 1:54.22. Olivia Stickler placed 1st overall in the 100 finals with a time of 13.10 and 2nd in the 400 with a time of 1:06.00. Sophia Peter also took 3rd in the 300 hurdles with a time of 51.49. All of these girls qualified for the State meet and will be competing there in these events in two weeks.
Varsity Boys Track
At the League meet at Peck on the 17th, the Varsity Boys Track team took 5th overall with 55 points. Aiden Fitchett took 1st in both the 800 and 1600 as well as 2nd in the 3200. His 800 time was 2:13.36, his 1600 was 4:58.54, and his 3200 was 11:31.18. Matthew Hickmott took 3rd in the 300 hurdles with a time of 48.13.
On Friday, the Boys went to Marlette to compete at their Regional meet. They took 12th overall with 19 points. Aiden Fitchett took 2nd in the 1600 with a time of 5:02.43, qualifying for States.
