Sherwood Schools to Conduct Lockdown Drills

All Sherwood schools will be conducting safety protocol training and lockdown drills between September 30 and October 11. Schools will be conducting their drills at different days and times. Parents - please be aware that if you visit a school during a drill, you will be asked to comply with the drill protocols of staying outside the building until the drill is concluded. These drills are held three times per year, and help to ensure that students and staff are clear on what to do in an emergency situation.

2016 Capital Improvement Bond - Updates

Fun fact: Did you know that the courtyard at our new high school campus (pictured below) will be larger than Pioneer Square when it is completed?

For ongoing updates on all of our bond projects, please visit the 2016 Capital Bond website at https://sites.google.com/a/sherwood.k12.or.us/2016-capital-bond-information/

Elementary Boundary Adjustment Process

Sherwood School District has begun a process to adjust our elementary school boundaries for the 2020-2021 school year. The opening of the new high school, which will be followed by the shifting of school buildings through our Transformations projects, will create a need to adjust boundaries to ensure that enrollment is balanced across the District, while also accounting for capacity needed for future enrollment growth.

An eight person committee, made up of two parents from each elementary school, has begun meeting to look at potential adjustments. The committee will be holding public forums to solicit community feedback on November 4 and December 16. A recommendation will be made to the school board in January.

For more information, please visit the Boundary Adjustment Website at:

School Start Time Survey

Earlier this week, an email was sent to all staff, parents, and middle/high school students with a survey soliciting feedback on school start times. The District is considering changes to school start times for the 2020-2021 school year, and this survey is your opportunity to share your feedback on our current start times. To access the survey, please click here. The survey will close at the end-of-day on Monday, September 30.

Free and Reduced Meal Program

If your family is currently receiving benefits from the free and reduced meal program, please submit a new application before October 14, 2019, in order to continue these benefits for the 2019-20 school year. Students not on the FARM program will need to have funds available in their account to cover the cost of their meals. Here is a link to our online program -- PayForIt.Net -- where you can add funds to your student’s lunch account: http://www.sherwood.k12.or.us/payforit
