A Message from the Principal

Dear Sward Families,

We really got a taste of a "Chicago Style Winter" this past week but I hope you were able to stay warm and enjoy some well-deserved indoor cozy family time.

On Monday, we celebrated the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and reflected on his powerful work and contributions to a better world. His work is an inspiration to all and motivation for us that we can strengthen our community by helping others, spread the message of equality and love, and raise awareness about topics that are important. Let's teach our children that they can accomplish any type of good as long as they are determined and put their minds to it…we have kids with big ideas at Sward, let's foster and champion their passion! Somebody once told me "If your ideas don't scare you, they're not big enough," let's work together to keep that driven mindset going here at Sward.

Just a friendly reminder that students will be taking their MAP tests this week, please make sure that your child gets a good night sleep and healthy breakfast in the morning.

Sward 1st Annual Talent Show

Calling all Eagles! Sward will be hosting our very first talent show in Spring 2024. Third, fourth and fifth grade students will be able to audition! We are looking for a variety of acts (lip-synching, actual singing, dancing, magic, skits, etc.) Please take some time over winter break to brainstorm ideas for your act! Try out dates and additional information will be announced in January!

Father Daughter Dance Era: Sward Version

If you know you know...I'm really loving the theme to this year's father daughter dance. Keep in mind that a daughter’s date might not be “dad,” so it’s okay to bring someone else who is glad

Sward Family Night w/The Chicago Wolves
