March 30, 2022
Good Afternoon Parents & Guardians,
As we move into the month of April, some of our sights begin to go towards planning for next year. Please be attentive to upcoming Parent Nights that we offer to Rising 9th-graders (Wednesday, March 30th - 5:00-6:00pm at BHS Little Theater), interested 6th-grade STEM candidates (Thursday, March 31 - 5:00-6:30pm at BMS PAC), and our incoming 5th, 6th, and 7th Grade Students (Thursday, May 12 - 5:00-6:30pm).
Our Winter Sports Season wraps up this week with our last Unified Basketball Game, wrestling and indoor track meets. We are now taking registrations and sign-ups for our Spring Season. Be sure to sign up on Family ID if your child is interested in playing a spring sport.
Thank you for your attention and have a wonderful start to the spring!
Be safe and healthy,
Mr. Scott Descoteaux

8th Grade Important Dates
In a joint effort with the staff at Biddeford High School, we have scheduled a few different events coming up over the next month that is intended as communication and to inform you as we lead your students toward choosing classes for their 9th-grade year at Biddeford High School. Our hope is that our students learn more about the expectations at the high school. We intend to answer as many of their questions as possible so they look forward to the next four years of their academic experience.
On March 25th, the High School Staff visited our school to discuss the process of course selections at BHS. A parent information night will be held on Wednesday, March 30th, where questions can be asked and additional copies of these applications will be available.
Math classes will be determined by a placement exam and/or teacher recommendation and will be the same process for all incoming 9th-grade students.
Here are the important dates for our transition planning: (Dates are subject to change based on snow dates, etc.):
Friday, March 25 - Student informational meeting with High School Student Services at BMS. Students will be given course booklets and course sign-up sheets to take home to parents/guardians.
Wednesday, March 30th (5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at BHS Little Theatre) - Parent Information Night for all incoming 9th-grade students. Additional copies of all applications will be available to parents.
Monday, April 4th - BHS Course recommendation forms are due (the students can return any time prior to April 4th). BHS counselors at BMS to sign up for classes online.
